<b>UNZIP TO \My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Replays folder</b>
This SHOULD be where you replays folder is located. If not search for it *pets tiio*

Rightio.

Here is a collection of my first 11 games (One is like 3 seconds long, but I keep all replays anyway).

I recommend watching sortie 6, 8 and 11. The others are slighly boring.
I find it so hard to keep a China player at bay. USA and GLA no problem, but China... **** they're everywhere!

<b><a href='http://infrtehsexahhawt.netfirms.com/Replays.zip' target='_blank'>Click for the zip of all 11 replays (180k, yes 180k.)</a></b>

Does anyone else love the fact replays are so tiny? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

GLA is for newbs now? What the...I've always found them the toughest to play, but the most enjoyable.

Yeah, china does tend to be everywhere, but US or GLA forces can hit them hard enough to work. As GLA truck bombs work wonders against those massive chinese double barreled monsters, and as the US hitting them with stealths or Auroras works as well. I'd also recommend rocket buggys as GLA, these things have such a long range it's ridiculous, and hijackers if you can ambsuh them. USe your unique sniper as well to dispose of the tank crews. Angry mobs are also good against pure tanks, although gattlings make them go down fast. US, i'd say more aircraft, but back them up with some solid ground defense, your paladins should be able to hold their own with some air support. Hell, if you have it fire off your laser cannon at big clumped chinese tank groups, because this weapon hits straight away it can be used in such situations to great effectivness.

So far, I've yet to come across an adequate GLA player. I've gotten WHOMPED by a USA player who expanded to all hell (Sortie 8 in my replays), and nearly beaten by a China player (Sortie 11, check it out. I destroy his Nuke with 0 seconds left on the clock), but I've had no trouble putting the GLA in it's place.

Perhaps I should actually seek out a good GLA player and find out....

You end up being bloody paranoid, you should have heard that chinese player scream when I blew up three of his fully upgraded fully veteran mega-tanks with my one bomb truck. Guess he didn't think about why there was a 4th one coming up from behind <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
GLA is tough to use, granted, but play it right and you get a very versitile force. One thing you HAVE to do as GLA is be agressive, expand quickly and take part in battles. The upgrades you gain by scavanging turn your fairly weak vehicles into damn strong forces. Once you get the Anthrax shell upgrade your tanks can chew infantry up no problem. Combinations of mauradar tanks, quad-cannons and technicals work very well, as all can be upgraded after a battle. Use your bomb trucks (upgrade their bombs individually for killer effect) sneakily to hit their formations in the feild, send your forces in to scavange afterwards and advance. USe your tunnel network well, they provide instant transportation to any other tunnel site, meaning for instance a peasent can build one near an enemy base and 5 slow moving scud launchers can arrive straight away and then by Flayra that enemy base is in trouble. Also on Scuds mix them up slightly, make one an anthrax launcher, it's effect area is huge. Get the bounty general promotion, you can really rake in the cash. Finally don't forget to use your unique infantry unit, he can shoot the crew of any vehicle and disable it, and you can then take it with any infantry unit. THrow some infantry into your technicals for this purpose if no other.
Oh yeah, grab the junk repair and ap bullet upgrades. Your forces become even more nasty.

50% of gla dont know how 2 use them properly
45% of gla (thats after the 50%) rush
the last 5% are good with gla.

I bought the game on on friday, and with all its flaws it is a blast to play. I so far, prefer china, but I think I could grow to love the GLA. I made a force of rocket buggies and quad cannons, and china can hardly take it. All their stuff is soo slow, and their recon is horrific. Then again, china has lots of power. In all truth though, I have yet to play online, so I could be in for a rude awakening, as the AI sucks. I have to fight 3-4 Brutal oppoennts to get a challenge.

Why is this in discussions forum and not off topic? Its not like we're debating anything of merit. :P

I hear that generals replays are at 1x only. That sucks if its the case. 8x war3 replays were always hilarious :D

I played online for the first time today. I got womped. The game seems to be tech to your super weapon ASAP, and then get some tanks together to come in for the deathblow.

China's overlord tanks seem to roll over pretty much everything except for rocket infantry and tomohawk/SCUD teams. A humvee full of rocket infantry will pack a nice punch, but doesn't really seem like it'll last long under those huge guns.

You'd figure the C&C games would have gotten OUT of this damn rut by now.

It's either get tanks early and kill them, or camp until you have your super weapon, THEN get tanks and kill them.

I'll still give it a shot over the summer (no time now), but still... Meh.

Well, I definately think this game could use some modding. Something to make ground troops slower, maybe more costly, in order to increase the effectiveness of unit control/co-ordination, IE: the player that can drop an artillery barrage, a nuke, and 2 wings of migs on the enemy base at the same time should win the game, over the player who can't.

Honestly, at this point, I'm regretting not buying Splinter Cell over this.

I plan on getting the war3 exp, splinter cell, and raven shield over the summer. I have to make up for all the gaming I'm missing out on during the school year. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I just got done with an awesome game, me as GLA, and him as America. This just shows you how resilient the GLA really is. It's a little long, so be warned.
