does the gorge have an infinite amount of webbing or are they only allowed a certain amount?

There's a limit per area, and a higher one per map.

There is a limit to the amount of webs that can be placed in a map, much like there is a limit to the number of chambers that can be placed in any one area. Unfortunately, the web limit also applies to the whole map and not just one area, so if an over-enthusiastic gorge spams web in some out of the way corner where the marines never go, no more webs can be placed anywhere else on the map.

I usually go gorge when I play aliens, and there is nothing more annoying than trying to web an on-coming HA/HMG marine only to discover that the map's web limit has been reached by another gorge placing all his webs in one corridor somewhere.

On a side issue with webs, can a gorge web a sentry/siege turret to disable it for a short while?

Would help in clearing turret farms...

Nope, but that's actually a really GOOD idea...

    I like it.

Should probably go into the suggestion area, but I'm curious, and I dont feel like making a new post unless we got a lot of positive responses here... (errr, and sorry for pirating the thread, but it does sorta relate... )

Who here would have a problem with Gorges getting either a) a massive increase in # of webs per map or b) unlimited # of webs per map (still retaining limits on webs in an area like the chambers in each case) if they lost Babblers?

Sound off. I'd love the trade off. Webs rock hard, Babblers, while cool, arent needed/exciting/could free a weapon slot.

If you're in the position to have webbing (2 hives) then you don't really need to web turrets. Fades laugh at them and can take the fire whilst skulks chomp them down. Also, you'd need to web either side with pinpoint accuracy so that the web which formed affected the turret. You'd be getting hit whilst this happened as well. I'm not saying it's an idea that can't be looked into, I just don't think it's really needed...
