Look Up!

in Ns u HAVE TO LOOK UP!
i think NS, bringing a whole new concept of wallcrawling animals.. (perhaps other mods have... i THINK AvP etc have.. but i never played it)

but wuts important is that players remember how crucial it is.... many players fail to understand that they hafta look UP when they enter a room, no matter how low or how high the cielings are, anything could be up there........

ie.. ns_nancy in messhall... countless marines.. ive seen.. a whole squad get overrun, causing me to... beucase even tho i look up, and manage to kill 2 skulks or so.... 4 more come down and catch my whole team unguarded...

or ie in ns_caged or even ns_nancy again when skulks are hiding in the ceilings right outside base.. awiting to parasite....

bascially.. a parasited marine is a useless one.. (ALMOST) ... u mostly alert the aliens where the FU** u are...

pls.. when u leave base... look up... ive killed at least 20 or more skulks since ive started who camp and wait to parasite u .... or if ur careless and u forget.. and all of a sudden u get the "parasite detected" alert... quickly spin around.. cuz either a) u'll see the skulk still sitting there hiding from u OR b) u see a skulk runing RIGHT at u waiting to but ur AS* off

pls pls pls look up! haha thx

If im parasited and lmg marine , and im not defending an important location i just kill myself. Oh and for looking up, you're quite right. As Marine I'd ALWAYS look in spots where I'd hide as alien....

shame people dont build sens more often, as if you turned around when the 'Parasite Detected' alert went off, you wouldn't even see a thing.

I love to play the bait for aliens, especially when I am partasited.
With 2 teammates behind me (in a location were aliens KNOW that we are there, no matte rif parasited or not) I run infront of them to make aliens hunting for me.
You just need to know and stay in the line of sight of your teammates all the time you try not to get hit for a long time.

And Marines say that the aliens have no effective one-hive projectiles. With a mentality like this one filling a Marine team, the whole game could be won, 7hp at a time.

...unless you're running in 32-bit color mode, where the cloaked aliens stick out like a sore thumb, given that the current cruddy 90% cloaking is designed to be looked at in 16-bit color mode.

but yes... BEFORE u kill urself... FOR GODs SAKE PUleezzee kill the skulk first so ur whole team doesnt waste their time killing themselves

Ah come on now. I run NS in 32 bpp and definitely no alien sticks out like any sore thumb. Why two nights ago I took the Bast Airlock and I thunk I'd be all alone... untill I realized that I was standing RIGHT NEXT TO A FADE! I didnt realize that untill he moved a bit. Cloaking is fine as it is now.

<adds mark next to 'blind Marines' count> Or maybe it's hardware-dependent, if it's not just my eyes? Haven't seen how cloaking looks while you're moving, on an nVidia card. ATI, at least to me, it's pretty obvious that they're sitting there.

The situation; aliens got sensory chambers first, i was 1 of two marines moving towards generator hive from marine spawn. The other marine got parasited, so i let him take point. cloaked skulks ambush him by charging at him then get ambushed by me, since i was moving up a distance behind him out of sight. This eventually fell apart when he got killed by a sneakier skulk.

Summary: parasited marines can make a good distraction!

[EDIT] I only spot cloaked karaa when they turn, but even then the karaa is fairly difficult to spot.
