[mreq] Akimbo Pistols For Ha-lmg

self explanitory. two pistols instead of the lmg for v_mg_hv.mdl. if anyone decides on doing this, then they'll hopefully make sure that the left hand isn't simply a flipped right hand, but a correctly held pistol... in the left hand.

    Well, this is hardly any difficulty to do this part... but it's a first step that would need to be done eventually anyways. So... a screenshot of a world-model for akimbo pistols.

    I'm looking over how I could akimbo them properly ingame, and it's a little more difficult than I thought, but I'll take a stab since I need to find something to do with MilkShape, since I just registered it. :-)

    If it's any help, this has been implemented in AHL - here's the results of my 5 min effort to try it in NS, but I didn't grab all of the right files, events, etc... but it gives you an idea of the possibilities. Sorry it's so dark.

    Souris did these - I forget exactly where I DLd them from - Had em for 3-4 days now and really like them. He also has one that is slightly brighter.

    Just a quick update... I *AM* still working on this... just Real Life and My Job have reared their heads these last couple days so I haven't made much progress. :-)

    Current status:

    W_Model: Complete

    This is the one that's actually spawned by the Commander

    P_Model: Planning

    This is the one that attaches to your player's hands, and is unlikely I'll be able to do properly, unfortunately.

    V_Models: Building

    These are the LA/HA 'hands in your view' models, which are mostly done now, just need time to adjust and align the animations to look right. :-)

    Wouldnt you have to remodel the sequence of the model(s) in order for them to hold it. (Just like the smartgun models)

    Do you mean crosshairs?
    Or the little graphic that pops up for weapon selection?
    At any rate, either of those, as well as the commander's sprites for the buildings, commands, etc. are in your sierra/halflife/ns/sprites folder
    If you need to know which is which I can go check, or you can DL sprview from <a href='http://www.planethalflife.com/mach3/sprites/sprview.html' target='_blank'>Here</a> and view them yourself.

    There is, unfortunately, no way to make a proper way to link the weapon to the player model during all animations. So the player will either still carry an HMG, or carry a pair of pistols a bit like an HMG, but the pistols will look like they're connected by an invisible bar. =-.-=

    As for remodelling the sequences... that's actually what I'm doing in this case, rebuilding the draw and fire animations with only one arm, and then for the reload I'm <i>almost</i> cheating, reusing the existing pistol-reload animation on one side, then the other, since I have all the time in the freakin' world for the HMG-reload sequence. :-)

    MongooseBob cheers m8 i got it now now i can go and mek my own sprites too i think i got a nack for gfx editing so ill try n help out by making the weapon sprite if needs be WolfWings?

    If you play the specialists IMO the reload sequence for the akimbo pistols in that is a good semi-realistic animation.

    finally somone knows about TS.... yeah, the akimbo sequences are awsome, and so are the models, and don't mention the upgraded 3rd person stuffers they did.....

    Even for the akimbo uzi's that sum1 one wanted. There is one there.

    what the hell is TS? n e screenshots or n e thing? btw the akimbo pistols jus gonna b normal marine pistols? or new models all together? cuz if its the originals makes it alot easier to shove the spritres up

    TS = The Specialists it is awesome another HL mod but this is definatly worth a look.
    I don't have any good screenshots though sorry.
