nah thats not a pterodactyle..thats a dif type of prehistoric bird called the Batrachognathus. pterodactyles have a horn extending out the back of their head like a parasephalosaurus.

i found a pick with dif types of prehistoric birds. the one in lower corner holding a fish is the pterodactyle.

Interesting...always though pterodactyls were the ones with no horn thing on their head, and pteranodons (i know i did not spell that right) had that horn there. Maybe an archaeopteryx would work better as lerk though o_o

well the pterodactyle are the bird that attacks the Kirbies, Billy(Alan Grants associate) and of course Dr. ALan Grant in that big bird cage

the Pterodactyl is kinda large tho it has HUGE **** WINGS maybe the baby or somfing but the adult is like ENOURMUS!!!

nope. the pterodactyle and pteranodon are the same thing. my mistake, they can, or cannot have a crest, it depends. most had the crest. pterodactyles commonly called name Pteranodon ingens or pterosaur. the pic you posted still aint pterodactyl as the pterosaurs skull was 1.8 meters. its wingspan 7 -9 meters

Pteranodon is known from thousands of specimens, mostly disarticulated and crushed bits and pieces. At least one nearly complete skeleton is known. Discovered in 1871 and originally named "Pterodactylus," the first specimens of this giant pterosaur created a sensation. They were the first pterosaurs to be discovered in North America and they were many times larger than the European forms. In 1876 the name Pteranodon was coined to distinguish the new pterosaur

Two forms are now recognized, the tall-crested P. sternbergi and the long-crested P. longiceps. In both species the snout is long, sword-like and toothless. The snout crest common to most pterodactyloids is present here, but blends almost indiscernably with the upper jaws

but yeah, any way to the point. anyone got the link to where i can dl milkshape so i can do this?

Make faces by selecting vertexes in a counter-clockise direction to make the face toward you. Delete the faces that are there and reface them.

i know how to make faces ya nut. just i make them and i fill the hole. but i cant skin it, or put skin on it.

ok well, i put faces on it. looks fine in milkshape. then when you view in hlmv the faces arent there. whats worse is i kind accidently screwed around with thr models skinning. and now its all stuffed where the horn is.

if I'm not mistaken milkshape won't let you know in a nice way if one of the faces on your model is backwards... but HL and most model viewers will. Logically the computers only draw the FRONT side of a polygon, not the backs, or insides of models. This means if you make a face facing the wrong way in milkshape it may show up like a normal polygon, albiet in some cases it may seem darker, but in a model viewer or game that spot will become completely transparent, to the point where you can see through to the other side. I know you already went through this point but that is what it looks like to me

i edited the wings to be larger, like the real prehistoric bird and i have edited some animation sequences to extend the wings wider. i was also thinking of editing the swimming sequence

what program are you using for skinmeshing? your skin seems to stretch a lot and seems to be severely lacking details.... like blobs. Might I suggest lithium unwrap? it works decently for a free meshing program...

That is a very cool model, Kylie. A whole line of dinosaurs would be cool, I'm thinking. Raptors for fades, Triceratops for Onos ... Maybe something akin to an ankylosaur for the gorge?

is tehre a place like the Valve-erc ... but for modeling (i'm a big time mapper.... just about to put the finishing touches on a map i'm making as a joke.... we lan game in my dorms, so i'm making the dorms.... and the bombsite... is the location of our one hacker CS player.... fun fun fun)

is there a place? or are we left to scrounge for TUTS? (i know about the stickie/pinned/webbed/admisteration reccommended, but find them very useless....)

than you so much for the lithunwrap program, as soon as i figure out what i'm doing wrong... i'llput some textures up on my first model...

Only 4-legged dinosaur I'm aware of is the cynognathus. Looked like a mammal sort-of, and may have even had fur.
