Small Ns Weapon Sprites Needed

Here's your chance
If anyone plays at very low resolutions, they've probably noticed that the weapon and ability icons aren't right. This slipped through the cracks at the end of v1.0. If anyone here can take the larger weapon sprites, rescale them, touch them up and make them work at the low resolutions, that'd be fantastic. I will include these sprites as an official part of v1.1, or whatever version of NS we're about to release when they're completed.

The other thing that's needed (but less glorious) is to adjust all the textschemes so the fonts look right at low resolutions. This whole system is relatively undocumented and will take a lot of trial and error, but it will make a big difference to all the people that play NS at low resolutions. Merely tweak 640_textscheme.txt, 512_textscheme.txt, 400_textscheme.txt and 320_textscheme.txt until it looks right. Other game fonts or files may need to be edited or added too, I'm not totally sure.

If anyone wants to do this and post their results here, I'd be much appreciative.

You might have better luck posting this in the modeling forum, cuz thats where most of the sprite artists are

Would you like them to match exactly to the button sizes and shades now? I think I might be able to work this out. It might take more than 1 try but I'll give it a shot

and yes, this would get more hits/views if it was in the modeling forums, not only sprite artists but also people interested in getting into sprite art.....

I'm pretty sure nowadays a Geforce3 and a 1.5 Ghz is quite cheap. Otherwise there's always the nForce2+ a Duron, that's even better

Ok can I like get something cleared up? Do you want the current set of sprites redone so they work better at a lower res (cleaning up) OR do you want new sprites made from scratch.

Also what is the width and height of the sprites that are required.

To clarify, the current hi-res sprites are right and the current lo-res sprites are wrong (it's very obvious, you'll see what I mean). I just need someone to make the lo-res versions look like the hi-res versions. They'll be smaller and less detailed of course.

i think open GL, he wrote somewhere (and only mappers know that) that Software will not be supported by 1.1... perhaps he changed opinion, but that are the last news i saw
