Exiting Command Chair Sticks Me Moving Forward?

nothingnothing Join Date: 2002-11-18 Member: 9231Members
<div class="IPBDescription">frequent problem I'm having</div> I have a frequent problem that when I exit the command chair, I cannot stop moving forward.

I'm not holding down any buttons when I log out, but when I pop out it's off to the races. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

It also happens if I'm in the comm chair when the round ends and I get sent to the ready room, I can't stop moving forward there either.

The problem can last indefinitely. I usually make it go away by either getting back into the chair or by joining a team (when I'm in the ready room). Very rarely, it goes away on its own. The problem happens about 3/4 of the time when I get out of the chair.

If this should have been in another forum, I'm sorry, I wasn't sure if I should put it in the bugs forum or the tech help forum, or anywhere else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This happens to me too, but it goes away after about 5 seconds when I keep pressing back and stuff.

There is a bugs report forum you know. But, if you are holding a direction when you enter the comm chair, you come out of it moving. So, if you hold down 'w' and enter the comm chair and pop back out, you are walking around automatically. Every account of this can just tap the forward key to stop it and it returns to normal. If yours is perminant, never heard of it before...

comprox is right, when you enter the com chair you are not in your normal body, and whatever buttons you were pressing are held down when you get out.

see, you pressed w into the chair, which is +forward, and never released it , so tap w and youll be fine again later.

I wasn't sure if this was a bug or if it was something I was doing wrong. The sporatic nature of the problem made me think it's probably something I'm doing, and hopefully someone else has gone through it and figured out what's wrong. I guess in retrospect maybe I should have put this in bugs. Sorry for any inconvenience.

    Edit:
I can't believe I misread the post I quoted. I'm sure that's the problem, holding forward when I get in. It's silly that I never thought of that. I will try tapping W to end the problem, thanks all for your help.

i have noticed this in many different games; the game thinks you are holding down some button but all you have to do is press and release the button that the game thinks is down and that solves the problem.
