Sensory Tactic Idea For All You Nutters Out There.

<div class="IPBDescription">level 3 cloak speed, how fast is it?</div> The question is important cos:

If a turret can't 'see' you when you're cloaked.
and
If you can re-cloak befor it has a chance to re-aquire and shoot you.
then
That is one dead turret farm.

No they don't, Shock - I've happily sat there and done exactly what BlueGhost says. Wait, wait, uncloak, strafe, chew, strafe, chew, strafe, chew, pause, cloak, regen, regen, regen, goto step 1.

You could just sit there waiting until the turret is facing the opposite way, then chew too, and don't bother with too much strafing, but I think that's a bit too slow. It's better to strafe like mad until you're down to about 50/0 - you can get quite a lot of chewing in before this happens, then pause. Just try to strafe around to the back of the turret then pause - it will only just have time to swivel 180 degrees before you cloak.

You've got no worries unless they scan, or a marine runs in just as you cloak and spots you. Defeated by having an observatory nearby, of course, but the marines won't be expecting to have to do that <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

BTW, I find it quite amusing that everyone's such a seasoned pro at D/M tactics - everyone's perfected their vent DC placement, and knows perfectly well that they need to put a MC in each hive - but we're so unused to S/D that we're still discussing basic techniques like this...

Oh, and as to the actual cloaking time, I think it's about 1 second. Virtually equal to the turret 180 degree rotation time, anyway.

It's almost the same as with Movement and Defence, instead get Celerity, then chew, runaway, regen, chew, runaway, regen.. etc...

Then again, I don't see the point of using cloak+regen as skulk, because with two hives, you can go Lerk, and just umbra and chew away without any worries...

You've spent 33 less rez? You're allowing your pool to go to the Gorge, and not fill up your bar all over again?

You're increasing your time spent, but supporting the team?

    I can think of plenty reasons <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

maybe ... but if a lerk can take down that outpost in a minute
a skulk doing his regeneration, attack combo ... takes lots more time and thats a bad thing
and a lerk is always usefull.

just to clear things up - turrets fire at you when you cloak, and they will continue to fire for about another second or two, and then stop.

Nah, that means you just stop chewing a bit earlier. If there aren't any defense chambers/hive/gorge close by then this could be worth the effort.
