<div class="IPBDescription">now with resource editing</div> ok guys, I know we all forgot that spidermonkey existed, but I decided that releasing a new spidermonkey is the best way to introduce my new marine resource editing stuff upon the world.

NOTE: the resource editing is new stuff and is comes with no warranty, if it doesn't work then it's probably changing a memory location that it shouldn't, it wouild be a good idea to unload it if it doesn't work as advertised

the source is ugly (remember that this was originally my first metamod plugin) but is included as well.

New serverside commands:
spmo_setmarineresources <new resource amount>
spmo_changemarineresources <+/- amount>
spmo_setalienresources <player index> <new resource amount>
spmo_changealienresources <player index> <+/- amount>

and remember players, if you think that an admin is using this for evil, all u gotta do is type "spmo_commandwatch" in your console to be notified of commands this plugin runs.

hopefully this new stuff should open up doors for adminmod scripters n stuff.

EDIT: changed attachment.... Bugfix, hopefully editing marine resources late in the map shouldn't matter now

/me casts Protection from Elements (fire) (16th level caster) on Them (in case his boots get dispelled).

Hmm, while I was pub-hopping yesterday, I was on a couple servers with that spmo_commandwatch notification. I didn't know what it was for. I wonder if the game where the Aliens had the Marines down to 1 or less RTs 95% of the time was on one of those servers, because strangely the Marines kept churning out fireteams of HA/HMG/W troopers. From now on I'm absolutely gonna watch out for this.

well, er, don't you think you went a little too far, i mean if some nub admin gets there hands on this they could easily wreak havoc, no offense to you at all, but you got to restrain your self a little, set up some sort of protection, there’s not a doubt in my mind that this plugin will be used for more evil than good, and well "spmo_commandwatch" is simply not the solution, really, only a handful of server admins who will prob be playing on their own servers are going know about this, and if you all of the sudden say "oh **** i must have been drunk" i sure hope you've programmed in some sort of back up plan, even though its open source.....

I realize that this could be used for evil rather than good, but that's why the watch command is in the client connect message.

I'm of the opinion that basic tools need to be provided to the general public so that they can test permutations of the game that haven't been explored just like I try to do with my other plugins.

Basic tools such as this really open doors for people that can only code on the smaller levels of the server system such as adminmod scripts. Using other features of spidermonkey I've enabled people to create adminmod scripts that make certain guns in counter-strike free, undo health lost due to team peckers, Create more effective c4 (extended blast radius), scrolling marquee's of information about the servers, rambo rewards. And in games like ns specifically they can now undo the effects of a bad gorge by redistributing the resources of said gorge or giving a refund for a commander that only spammed comm chairs, or achieve weird effects like the skulk/lerk bite healing I came out with a few months ago.

I really want to see more tools made available to server admins and adding features like these are the only way I can think of to do that.

I have no doubt that *someone* out there will simply use this for cheating on their own server. That's why I've tried my best to inform clients on how to find out if the admin is simply cheating instead of proving some alteration to the rules.

All in all, I believe that more benefits will come out of tools like this than harm.

hmmmm, just a heads up to some people using this out there. Apparently the marine resource editing works well at the beginning of maps but fails near the end, this will be addressed in the near future

here's a bugfix update that should hopefully fix crash issues with editing marine resources late in the map.
