Well maybe you all know this but i just figured it out. If you touch a door/elevator switch while leaping it activates. I did it by accident and was surprised because i figured i would have known thta by now.
Its because some switches are activated when they recieve damage... if you bite it, it will activate... parasite it, it will activate. Im not sure about shooting it but melee damage with activate it.

Its not because of the damage, in my maps you can also activate the buttons with parasite, but i never configurated that the buttons are activated with damage.

Parasite-activated switches are always fun--also when you hit the door controls and it opens or closes *just* in time... And remember, the commander can do all the stuff a skulk parasite can, more or less. Opening and closing doors, elevators, etc.

And how you can set a waypoint to a weldable target?
Also, the welder will activate switches...so be careful with your group of HA/HMG/Welders... found this out the other day when playing on ns_nancy....our group of ha's were walking to mess hall, welding eachother, and the door shut on like 2 of us...very not cool

I find that this works well.

No but seriously it's very useful. Take the elevator that leads to forboding antechamber on ns_nothing. If it's down and I send a team of marines in that direction I'll bring it up for them in advance. Then when they get close i'll start it down. It saves alot of time. It's funny when the marines don't know I can do that. as for activating stuff as comm, you can but it is fn hard to do (basicaly get right over the switch and click frenzy)
