I did a quick filter with ASE. Here are some decent looking ones:

Thats why its disabled and not because of noobs or an alien advantage.
Then there was only one left. I watch horrified as each time it spit the projectile flung out and hit the marine res node... and the OC's health dropped. My perfect chokepoint had just annihilated itself.

I'd be mucho glado if the noobs hated friendly fire and all left. I found that all the decent DoD servers were FF servers, THATS where the serious players play.
Get rid of acid spam, grenade spam, turret spam, MG spam, spam and eggs, sauage-spam and eggs, spam-spam-spam-baked beans-spam-spam-spam and spam.
uh...you get the idea....
Wound up getting killed more often than not by other skulks when we were all working to kill buildings.
Fortunately, there were no llamas about trying to screw up everything. People were actually apologizing over the voice comm.

soe might say it balances it, I just think it makes it annoying to play, skulk attacks looses nearly all effective ness b/c they either kill eath other or are too wary and don't do anything (I don't like FF and melee at all)
then I also think that FF is just a bad idea (3 hive aliens become just uterly prone to killing each other, spores, charge, bile, babblers, xeno all of the 3 hives have issues)

I guess its just the nature of half life to have ff in tourny mode.
Though FF does bring out better skillks and tactics.
stategy and teamplay skill become far more important..

This is my point exactly. Using FF will force a change in playstyle. That doesn't make it "bad" at all, just different. With all those splash and area weapons, new tactics would need to be developed.
FF on does require the admin to be around 'just in case' or to allow players vote-kick privaledge as there are some lamers who will use it to mess up a game, it does require that your team gives thought to where their shots are going but I think the admin should have the choice to run a FF server if he chooses to. There are 400+ servers to choose from so the default game will always be available if that is what you like.
Do we have an official response on this at all?
FF has a significant impact on late game, it demands caution and precision when firing. Everytime you see a group of marines moving with a GL guy, who can spam the floor around his teammates whenever anything comes close to them - remember that if this was tournement mode they'd all be dead. FF rewards players who can aim their weapons instead of tossing grenades around like potatoes out of a basket.
They do in most other FPS Team games....
