<div class="IPBDescription">Mostly about commanding</div> Yes, I'm really a newbie, getting better fast at <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> ing, I have a knack for that kind of thing...But...!
1.When commanding, is there any way to select EVERYONE? (Everyone, attack that hive NOW! And give the newbies a waypoint)
2.I'm asking this for a clear reason; is it beneficial to, ahem, pester the comm to place a resource collector in a safe spot that was missed initially or destroyed? (like 5 meters away from spawn, and even if in just a semi-safe place, won't it earn back the cost quickly, especially when there's already 100 res in reserve?)
3.What are some good items to bind as a comm?
4.My framerate drops when I'm comm'ing, even though I've got a near-top-of-the-line system. Should I turn down some detail, or is it normal, or fine?
5.How should I scroll around when comm'ing? With mouse or arrow keys?
6.Are grenade launchers underpowered, or underused? I'd rather have a GL than a HMG, myself, but am always getting handed HMGs...
I thought I had more, but that should clear some things up. Thanks in advance.

2. Any half decent comm can spot a newbie. If he keeps hearing requests from you (even if you are right) he'll just stop listening to you. Just ask nicely every now and then. The comm may have other plans. Oh and don't ask for health packs in base. Just kill yourself (type kill in console).
3. Alot of comms bind health amd ammo drops. This way they can instantly drop them when needed and also they can "med spam" which you will see from time to time.
4. Can't help you here but there are plenty of people on these forums who can.
5. I use the mouse. For some reason I feel out of control with the arrow keys. You can also click on an area of the minimap to focus your screen on it.
6. Grenade launchers have their uses. A solution to umbra, holding back onos (for about 2 seconds) taking out walls of lame, supporting HA/HMG, taking down hives. But overall the HMG is a better gun. You can't pick off the 5 skulks chasing you around a room with a JP and GL unless you are really skilled or lucky. You are better off with the HMG.
Oh and one last tip, don't hump the armory <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Welcome to NS!
A clarification on 2: It's better to ask about doing something questionable first than to just go do it and make everyone think you're an idiot when it could have been avoided entirely, if you get my meaning.
Hypothetical situation. You were in a huge group attacking a hive or setting up a seige post and died. There are no phase gates up, so you run on over, and come by a resource node pretty close to base. It would be in the team's best interest to make a resource collector there, and you request it over voicecomm, and ask for orders, but apparently they didn't hear you (Or in my case, I think they said 'okay' but didn't do anything) It isn't like we're going to run out of resources building it, so the best solution is to...
1. Ask again just once
2. Leave it entirely
3. Ask until they say no or place it
If your kinda meandering somewhere, ask once or twice. Don't stand there for an eternity. Also bear in mind if you know from experience or MT whether theres aliens frequenting the area. If there is, just forget it. It's only gonna get discovered 10 seconds after you leave and chewed on.
Some more I remembered:
1. If you're a <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> with 33\33 resources, do the resources that you can't take go over to your teammates and the <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> or are they just going to waste?
2. What the heck is the alienish voice saying when another player is under attack?

1. If at any time you are maxed out on resources all the resources you would get instead go to the rest of the team. This is why people will give such a stink of not only going gorge but also going lerk before the hive is up.
2. It says "Lifeforms under attack"
HMG is a direct-fire weapon.
Two HMGs backed by a GL'er are MUCH more powerful and versatile than three HMGers alone.
Support weapons suck without direct-fire weapons to take cover behind. Since there is typcally very little organization on pubs, giving a GL to someone is almost a guaranteed waste of 33 res (they will die before making full use of it).
<b>Don't</b> do this if you have Heavy Armor or a Jet Pack.
