Use The Motion Blurr Effect

when you make a killbox.
I want to see the motion blur effect in the next released killbox map, because motion blur is perfect for that.
How it works is described on the valce erc collective site.
every projectile weapon (especially fade ones) , particles, decals and webs (every moving or semi transparent object) looks great with motion blur.

keep in mind that MOTION blur looks awful on screenshots because they dont move normally.

How exactly does this work? You go into a certain place and you see the blur?

Check this. I might use it for moving entities in my next project, thanks!

Amazing! Truly amazing. How does it affect rspeeds and so on?

its just a visual effect that needs one half-transparent brush infront of a NULL texture that blocks from the void.
-> every viewable blurred face causes 2 times more polygons.
this effect wotks with openGL only.

Likely you think that quazilin because it is the HoM effect... read the article Nemesis links to

Are you sure? It's not drawing anything in the HOM area so I don't see why it would use any more polys at all. I'm only speculating though.

OMG this is sooo cool, if this were put in JUST a room that is like the main junction between the aliens and marines it would be awesome(I assume you can put it in a room and not have to do it for the whole level?). Just imagine you are a marine in that room, skulk comes and circles you lol, you wouldnt be able to tell where he is, then he nips you in the back!

Sorry for bumping, but I'd love to see this in a map, and also I found out by chance, that you can see something that very much reminded me of this topic when I saw it, in ns_nothing, PowerSilo, in the floor... spectator(or noclip) mode, be above the floor, and then go far enough to JUST get your view in the floor... if you go too far, it wont be visible, if you dont go far enough, you only see the floor!
Its the water, but with this blur effect... kinda. It looks nice for being water, and unintended etc.
