Yes, you heard me right. Ladders.
It didn't take me very long to figure this out, but it's amazing how useful it sometimes is:
If you crouch while moving up or down a ladder, you cease to make any noise AND you still move at the same speed up or down as normal. This makes sneaking up on places like ns_nancy's Port Engine Room a lot easier. In fact, a few times I've been on a ladder crouched somewhere and two or three aliens have leapt right over me, rushing off to the other side of the map.
Now, seeing as I do this every time I hit a ladder (hell, I sometimes do it by accident as a Skulk and fall off ), it'd be nice if the 2 or 3 marines right behind me most of the time weren't making enough noise to wake up half the alien team. Seriously, there are times when bunnyhopping is NOT the most useful way to get around a map (actually, is it useful at all now?).
To sum up: Crouching + Ladders = Win.
