<div class="IPBDescription">don't be!</div> Congratulations for finding Natural Selection. This game only recently went publicly <b>beta</b>! Because it is a beta, this game will still be changing as time goes on, it is not a *finished* [edit]mod[/edit]. People worked really hard on getting this product this far, and now there is a community and some 55k (I usually subtract 20% from a stats listing for # of players) people testing the new product out. We've found some nasty nasty problems with the game, like resource exploitation, Alien Skin hackers (it's not skin hacking, but that's what it was called due to misinformation), stupid gorges, a "required" limit to the number of gorges on a team, and for a while, a lack of different strategies in pubs. 1.04 seems to have changed that.

I only recently fought 2 hive aliens with cloaking AND redemption. The cloak at lvl 3 is fast.. REAL fast.

    this is NS <b>version 1</b>, not NS <b>beta</b> 1...

    sorry to burst your bubble, but it just is.

    there were alot of unforseen bugs, issues and things that were changed before release and never tested. It happened, it will be/is being fixed, lets move on.

    I don't envy the PTs. They have had a serious uphill struggle in the aftermath of the NS release.

    And they wrote great storys.

    Even if NS might not be "beta" anymore, it's still got some work to be done on it. That cannot be ignored, I think. Just like many many other games have to be changed before they can truly be finalized (CS is way beyond reparations - that game is gone and in the trash bin), DoD just to name one of them -- although that's still in Betas and they have support from Valve -- but NS is way funnerer! I think we'll start seeing many clones of Natural Selection however, and there have already been a few I see. Let's just hope Flayra & Co. get the recognition they deserve for this <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Playing NS with only 3 aliens, with 700 pings, only 3 building models, and the server crashing every 5 minutes is something to be envious of?     Though it would have been fun, as a beta tester, to play the lerk with bilebomb(that I heard of)... bombing runs must be really fun when they're supposed to be there rather than having to have sv_cheats on....(give weapon_bilebombgun after evolving to lerk)
