This is my FADE KILL! MINE! MINE! MINE!
In NS ver 1.04 a Fade costs 54 res. This means even if ALiens got 2nd Hive up, Fades should become more rare or at least get delayed in action. A good tactic would be to kill ALien res towers, so they wait forever

So, if as a MArine you see a Fade, PLEASE TELL ME SO I CAN RUN OVER YOUR MARINE CORPSE AND FINISH IT OFF MY SELF! YEAH! DONT LET THE F*CKER ESCAPE!

Is a Fade right outside Main Base? Spawn in (DONT WASTE GETTING MORE AMMO!), run and kill it or injure it!
If you dont kill it, well, I ll do it! IF I dont, then a 3rd Marine will!
Has Comm researched weapon/armor upgrades? Well then much better!!!!

Marines 0
Aliens -54
Thats a good scoring!

If you CHASE those fades down, they ll get **** off and will have to wait 5 min!

ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK!

Dont know about you, I always switch my light on, it helps me aim when emptying the clip fast

    I agree compeletly

Nothing is more frustrating than a couple of marines all loading up at the armory while fades r acid-spamming the base. Then running of and getting killed in 2 sec, and it start all over again. Just rush, attack.
Buy your commander time, drive them away, even if you don't kill them, you'll injure them/drive them away. So they'll have to heal/walk back. This way you buy your team valuable time.

the best way to kill fades is to spawn, go to the armory, hump it until you die, then respawn, hump the armory again, repeating endlessly all while moaning "COMM THEY GOT FADES WE R DED."

    /sarcasm

yep, its frustrating. but only on public games. i know everyone on this forum by now has gone out there and LMG'd, pistoled, HMG'd, or even knifed a fade down while people sit in base waiting for the end.

The best way to kill fades is too go rambo on them. I see too many marines that don't even bother to chase a fade that is injuried, guess maybe they don't relize that it'll be back in about 30 seconds after healing, or maybe they just don't wanna die (like it matters with LMG) anyways when you see an fade you run at him dodging as many rockets as possible and unloading your LMG into him, then bust out your pistol and fill him with more lead, usally by now he'll be badly injuried or even dead if he doesn't have carapace (and you have good aim) But sometimes the fade will try to engage you melee because of energy problem from earlier acid spam, if he tries this, get your knife and show him who's the boss around here, if he continues to flee then instead reload your pistol and try to hit him again, if your lucky and had someone to back you up, you'll probly have one dead fade even with carapace, the key is don't let them get away to heal.

the BEST way to kill a fade is to not rambo them. Killing one fade would be much easier if you just ambushed him. Yes, ambush, even marines can do that trick. If you're alone, then yeah, it's rambo, or die, or rambo, and die. If you have HA, don't be alone!

I've killed 3 fades taking 1 acid shot total ambushing them with an ally (well 2, they kept dying). The most I've ever killed alone is 1.

[edit] oh yeah, and watching them redeem back to heal in 2 seconds is kinda annoying but *shrug*[/edit]

dunno which is worse marines humping the armory and die before they finish off their 1st clip or fades running away from a marine swinging his knife at them.

Most of the fades on pubs are wimps too, just like the base marines when they could blink into the marine base and do alot more dmg than sitting at the door acid spamming turrets

I hope that in NS 1.1 they will introduce the thing of saying the location by writing %L ( it's in dod) . It would be really useful for this because you don't need to write all the time were you are .
When you finish writing the fade is alreay gone.

Ive done that!! I rushed out of the doors of ns_eclipse firing my LMG at a fade only for him to turn and come at me trying to slash me to death... I quickly tried switching to my pistol only to find I had Mines in my hand instead. So i just ran backwards and placed a short trail of mines on the floor in under 2 seconds to then have him walk right over them!!!

Maybe a couple Marines loading up, while 1 Skulk munches a PG to death
Rushing is a great way for a Marine team to kill a Fade, but perhaps the best way is to catch them un-awares. If you have a couple upgrades you can easily take out a Fade single handed if you get a good jump on them.

Ramboing is a great tactic if your at your base and a fade stops by for acid spam, most people will fire at him abit then continue getting ammo, while the fade runs off to get healed, if you shoot at a fade and he gets away, the only thing you've done is bought yourself a tiny amount of time at the cost of probly a full clip, and he'll be back and probly finish you off with his second wind so you might as well try to kill him the first time.

Well I don't have alot of "data" to really prove it is highly effective but one thing I do is - in a base situation with a fade outside - I wait for them to inevitably spend all 3 or 4 shots (no fade actually spaces them out so they are unlimited, in my experience) then I rush out. I figure as long as I stay a fair distance they can't slash me and they will get rockets alot less frequently, some of which I have a chance of dodging. I agree with what you say, I wish more people would actually finish off fades that I am sure I have hurt severely on multiple occasions.
