Going up...!
OK, so we have feedwater and we're pushing hard for refinery. We DID hold it but too many people didn't bother to defend and marines gained a foothold. So we were battling HARD to retake it and the marines were all going straight there. Resources were accumulating since were were unable to build the hive.
So a gorge at feedwater goes over to the elevator by atmospheric processing and starts dumping a pile of OCs and DCs on the elevator itself. Then he sends it up and the OCs proceed to start ripping apart the marine spawn area. It was hilarious. They would try and send the elevator down and we sent it right back up.
Now occasionally the OCs would fall through the floor of the elevator, so it wasn't 100% effective. However, the resulting distraction (which left all but 3 of their 12 people dead trying to counter it) was enough to take refinery. They ended up needing to siege the elevator to get rid of the chambers.
I'm not saying this would work every time, but it was sweet this time!

I even did it once - I set up as many OC's as I could, put a few DC's behind them, hopped on the lift, and pushed the button. When I got to the top........
.....the Fades and Lerks were just leaving after levelling the place.
If you get 2 skulks for distraction you might get 2 ocs up and then it keeps rollin
I put 4 or 5 OC's (i built others in the area, so that was max i could make) on the elevator
and i sent it up
but the damn commander sent it down again (hehe)
So i sent it up, and started building another the elevator
(we had 3 hives)
so i stacked Movements, Defense, and sensory ontop of each other so the elevator got stuck up..
someone on marines said "that's evil", and the aliens just complimented me
OC's shot the buildings and humans
w00t
very quietly evolve to gorg, and then slap up four OCs and a DC. They'll be shooting the crap out of the CC and any marines that try to come up to save it. If you can get somewhere they can't shoot you and keep healing it's insane.
A: as skulk, if you see an elevator going down, usually there is a little nitch (button?) that you can stand on and send it back up before it gets low enough for the marine to get out
B: as gorge, put O/D underneath it, so they have to hop off to attack, then a large stack of cheap chambers (O, or sensory) a few feet out in front, so the marines come down, and if they jump off, TRAPPED! ;-p
like causing menace on mariner base putting O/D while the sg are distracted by the skulks rushers

Why not block the elevator entirely by stacking the chambers?

I have seen somethin similar been done on caged (vent, sewer...). Dont know if the evolved up there but suddenly we had a gorge and a fade up by the cc. We couldn't kill them. The fade quickly killed anything that tried to come up and the gorge healed him and webbed enemies.
I don't think they built any structures up there.
The good thing about not building is that the marines cant siege them out.
Grenades would probably take them out quite fast though
