All the NS levels are all...dark... and are not on any of what looks like a civilian used place. It seems like all the levels are on science vessels or cargo ships.
How about one on a civillian ship, like a luxury ship?
This place could also have a transportation system, like a railway going around the edge of the ship.
The Humans could start off on the bridge and the aliens could have hives in the cargo bay, engine room, and also a recreation area...
(This idea sounds a little like something in CS, but...)
How about an added challange to the marines?
-Humans must protect civilians
No NS map has had ANY trace of civilians left, but then again, once the infestation begins...

It's probably apparent that at the moment there's no support a gameplay mode that involves protecting civilians. However, there have been quite a number of discussions about things like this in the past. There's a possibility that NS could include an alternate gameplay mode like this.
damn the idea of a luxus ship got me.
Here are some idea why it wouldn't work.
The mapper who did that would probably put so many Entites in the map that it's r_speeds would be horribe (AKA LAG :()
The karha's (did I spell that right) advantage is the dark. It could be fixed if the aliens could get in the vents, and disable the power grid. (emergency lights would still be one)
Otherwise I think it's a great idea. Thou there is no way that any non official NS mapper would tackle such a project. I could try to build a prototype, but there is no way I'm gonna compile it, it's a **** to get it to compile.

What the hell are you talking about? Not to get too offensive but the first part is not really right and also not entierly false what in his concept would force someone to use tons of entities? And yes entities can produce lag (serverwise due to too many calculations)but when saying r_speeds normally w_polies are meant, so basicly worldbrushes + entitiebrushes but no point entieites. R_speeds have nothing to do with lag since lag is a problem with your connection not with your rendering capabilitys. so you confused me there. Also the sentence about "official" mappers kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Just being in a official team doens?t make you any better. any mapper can try it and i am shure there are many mappers out there who are as good as are the guys who supplied the maps for 1.0 and some who propably are even better. Sorry this sentence kinda ticked me off as it came across like "if you are not in the NS team you can?t map ****". Not that i am any good i just felt you "downgraded" most of the mappers in this forum. what was it i wanted to say? ah well i don?t care who makes a map. if the map is good i could care less if it is "official" or not. Damn 1.30 am is not a good time to post.
oh and PVK... do you mean Pirates versus Knights?
