<div class="IPBDescription">Arg need your help!</div>Ok, the other day my moron parent got on the comp and really messed up my IE.  Beucase of of what they did 1) My IE boots up with Links and Search open by default. 2) My IE freezes when I have more than 2 browsers open. (Yes, I have the newest IE version)  3) And the problem I am asking you--I can no longer view "HyperText Transfer Protocol."  This includes jric (the IRC link over at rr.org) and movies that you might find on a webpage. (Instead of downloading you can just watch it there).  What I need is something that will allow me to watch/access "HyperText Transfer Protocol" thingys.  I searched microsoft.com and got nothing.  I need help.

    Hypertext transfer protocol is HTTP. Just the fact that you can post here means that something else besides that is screwed up.

    First, go to Tools -> Reset Web Settings

    If that doesn't work... Maybe try the Repair function?

    Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs

    Scroll down till you see Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 (or whatever it says.. it'll be Microsoft something though.)

    Select that and hit the button marked Add/Remove.

    There should be a thing that pops up with a few selections. One is Repair. You might need a windows CD or something for that.

    I repaired it, but that did not fix it.  When I click tools here is what I have..

    Mail and News
    Synchronize
    Windows Update
    ICQ
    Show Related Links
    Internet Options

    I dont have a 'restore backup' thingy.. any idea why?

    Try going into Internet Options, hitting the Advanced tab, and hitting the Restore Defaults button. See if that works.

    Can you find the person that screwed up the computer and use thumbscrews to get them to spill what they did to the computer?
