this is getting annoying
What is it with people not checking to see if the topic has been brought up a thousand times or not even thinking long and hard about their topic to see if it makes sense rather than have it end up getting their topic locked it's cluttering up the forums in locked posts
Please check to see if it has been done before
Look at what you have written and think, “Will this topic be locked”
Do at least these and the forum will hope fully be a better place

The search thing though is less of an error on their part...
Perhaps if we could have the mods delite posts that they would lock.. and also have them delite posts which could be tapped on the end of old posts.. like they'd delite it and then bump the old post sending a PM to the poster saying 'here is the txt of your post that was un-necessary due to an old and similar post I have bumped the old thread it is available at x url'
Course the mods would need some software to make that a simple job or it'd be a major headache..

How are you supposed to do a search for a topic like... new upgrades? New won't be accepted...
People come to General Discussion forums to openly chat and discuss, not to do research. If the forum is only going to accept "new" topics at this point in its life, it should just close down. There's very little new and fresh to talk about that SOMEONE hasn't seen before, somewhere. So relax.
Tailsin, had YOU used the search button before making YOUR post, you would have seen this thread, and realised you were being redundant. Of course you didn't research post history 6 pages back before typing your 1 paragraph post because to do so everytime you go to post something you would have to be completely insane.
Watch your language, please.
Considering the subject of this thread, bumping it for this purpose is deliciously ironic
Sorry, slipped out. Thought the filter would get it.
do you expect someone that has a simple question or a "eureka" moment to do a search and make sure his brilliant idea hasnt already been thought up? No. This will never happen nor should it really happen. Scan the first page maybe the 2nd then post.
