Using the Hive as a shield!!!
Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I've seen it used a few times already and I thought that I might post it...
The Hive Spam Tactic
Situation Hive space is occupied by marines, the marines have set up lots of turrets, making it difficult to penetrate. Although there is a phase gate, they haven't built a seige.
Method This tactic only really works if you have secured a decent amount of resource nodes. You have to get the gorge into or near the hive. Get all your skulks to meet near the hive space. Gorge drops a hive, and immediately the turrets will begin shooting the new hive down. It's at this point the skulks rally together and attack the TF and phasegate. Since the turrets and any marines will be busy shooting the Hive, this provides the perfect distraction for an attack.
Success Rate Out of the three games I've played, this tactic has been successful in reclaiming the hive, although thats not to say that it'll work against well organised marines. If you have plenty of resources and nothing to spend it on, its worth a go. Its a gamble.
Your choice The only question is whether to go for the chamber rush, or the hive drop rush?
Anyone else encountered this tactic, and who came up with this crazy idea in the first place!!

Turrets attack the closest enemy entity. That means, when the skulks move in, the turrets track them instead of the newly placed hive. The counter to this is to have the gorge run in and drop an OC by every turret, while the skulks munch on marines and phase gates. The gorge should also be healing as much as possible, and drop a couple of DCs to heal any skulks you might have missed, and for while you are out of energy. The gorge should take turns building each OC by the turrets a bit at a time, so that the turrets do not kill them.
