Muting Client Side?

I know that to mute you bind a key to toggletips, and you use it when you show the scores.
However my question is whether it has to be a client side patch to fix? I'm always in a game where some idiot mic spams. i immediately mute him but many people can't. I tell them to use the toggletips but a lot of them just get disgusted and leave.
Is it going to be fixed in 1.1 so that it is intuitive like in CS and Dod? Or can it be incorporated in 1.04? I have a feeling that 1.1 will be a while to come out so it will be best if it can be incorporated in 1.04.

I can't imagine that a serverside patch could fix a client UI issue :\

Just kidding. Great job so far.
My pet peeve is that when I get into the Com chair my voice becomes all garbled (I don't use the mouse for voice bind eithe). I tried it on my LAN server (with voice_loopback 1) so it's not the lag. Maybe its CPU usage? But I have a 1.7GHz P4 Celeron. Maybe it's my built in sound card.
Oh well I just have to stick with typing which is kinda inefficient when I am the com.
