Lerk And Fade Combo

<div class="IPBDescription">Any ideas?</div> The lerk uses the umbra and the fade fires its acid rockets so the lerk always have enough energy for the next umbra. Of course, they would have regeneration and gorge to build defense chambers near by and healing. So does anyone have any ideas?

    grenade launcher?
    its 33 rp´s and if the marines take the weapon when the former marine is dead it should not be too expensive...

    Grenade launcher to isolate the fades from the lerk (the lerk will most definately fly away, or get murdered) Then focus fire on one fade to make him blink away or fight. Most likely if you wait till he fired about 5 acid rockets 2 or more marines can focus fire on the fade and drop him. a JP/HMG would be nice to go after the fade who tries to blink away, but in a tight game, upgraded LMGs will do.

    I really don't like the cost of the GL. It sucks as a siege weapon and useless against anything smaller than a Fade and even then they would have to be a good distance away so you don't kill yourself. Maybe the bigger damage in the next patch will justify its cost.

    From what I've read about the 1.04 changes, the grenade launcher will become a viable replacement for siege bases.

    The Grenade laucher is better than seige bases. Its true I seen a guy with a GL take out my wall even quicker than a seige cannon. Its cheaper to give one marine a GL then making a TF, then upgrading it, and finally building one seige gun. Also the GL is a tool for taking our Lerk Fade combo attacks quickly.

    GL's are cheaper to defend multiple locations from offencive building than siege as you can get away with only 1.

    They also nullify umbra.

    If the alien group has a gorge with them they're even more deadly.

    Webs up infront, carapice fade with carapice lerk hiding behind and behind that is mr gorge health spamming away.

    If you lack grenade launchers: focus fire on the lerk. if a lerk is spamming umbra it's not flying (to conserve energy) so you may be able to at least scare it off and take out the fade.

    Or knife/welder rush -_^

    I think I was playing nothing on a 1.03 server in a small game (about 3 players each side). Us 2 went out and cleared a big mess of OTs and DTs with our GLs. The aliens weren't that great though, so we could both get away with GLs (plus we had JPs to fly away). If we needed the ammo, we could quickly fly thru a nearby phase gate to base, or even the comm could drop an armory. Don't forget that an armory can be useful for offensive if your marines are good shots and you have enough to cover your area. You can recycle the armory later too.

    Building on them usually don't work because they usually chew their way out or get someone else to.
