<div class="IPBDescription">when, where, how?</div> I would like to know when at what stage is having a ns server viable, because the cpu usage is so high, servers cost a arm and a leg?

In other words - when we getting some better programmers in the ns team.

NS is a great game, no complaints about that, but there will be always not enough ns server until this happens, and server providers will provide it at a resonable cost.

The major problems aren't with the NScode.. it's with the HLDS code. There is a bottle neck in the netop code (I think that is what it's called) which valve isn't looking to fix anytime soon.

The problem with the lag for NS is not the HLDS code.

Where did you get your information from? Mine came from directly from Flayra who has been in direct contact with the Valve guys. It's not like the engine isn't already old, and it really isn't optimized for todays pc's (p4, SMP). Plus this game is like no other HL mod. The Valve engine just wasn't design to handle this many enities (hence the longer the game play, the high pings go). IMHO.. Flayra has done some incredable things with this mod.

First of all, as far as i understand Flayra is the only "coder" for NS, he had other people do the maps/images and models and stuff, but he did the programming.

Now, for a one person too do all that coding.... Thats damn good, lets see you try to come up with a new ground breaking mod... with only you coding. Oh yea, and it has to work 200% perfect and you have to do it all for nothing and give it away for free and support it.

I been amazed left and right with NS, especially how the "commander mode" is done. I dont even want to know how much trouble it was to make that work the way it is now, Im just thinking it was a <b>NIGHTMARE</b> which it probally was, and thats just commander mode.
