Any known problems?
My friend and I are setting up a temporary game server using Slackware Linux 8.1. We've run NS without problems on Redhat 7.3.

Are there any known issues or problems of running NS on a Slackware server? We want to use Slackware, because it's extremely basic, allowing us more resources for HLDS. Hell, we're not even installing X on this one.

*shrugs* I run a test server on my linux router(Which happens to be slackware8.1 ) and I haven't noticed any problems... Stock version of gcc, etc. etc.

What you might want to know if you're gonna set up ssh and want to roll your own(Because IIRC, it doesn't have the latest version packages...), slack doesn't use PAM, so you'll have to compile it a bit differently...

Also, you can check out www.linuxpackages.net for a whole lot of not-included slack packages that users have made...
