Trust me, until something is done about motion tracking 1.04i is awful.

Hrm. I've seen MT working on 1.04 linux servers already, but they were previous versions. Did something change with h or i so that they wouldn't work?

Bah... it'll take em till "z" before they release this patch... Actually there might not be enough letters.

it may be like that, or this patch may be a cover up for another secret version they have secretly been working on. but then again, who knows?

1.04z -> 1.04za -> 1.04zb

Oh well...as long as it gets done right it can take forever.

Either its a few whiners now saying it takes too long, or 500 posts of "wtf, why wasn't it fixed"

In 1.04i the big change is that motion tracking works on linux again. So I hear. I played on D&S and didn't notice anything else different, although I wasn't comming so I didn't get a big looksee.

Changelog for 1.04i is up on joe.to, just need to use the magic of the 'Search' button to get it.

O Fixed all problems with motion-tracking and visibility under linux
O Fixed bug where offensive chambers hurt themselves when firing in tourny mode
O Fixed turret factory upgrade problem (where factory had to be +used after upgrade before siege could be built)
O Tweaked animations for upgraded turret factory and armory

some things to check

is redemption working for onos
is onos doing damage by touching things? (should not be, unless charging)

and as always, anything unusual or seemingly broken

Well no matter how much time they take to complete it there is still gonna be some bugs in it... of course if they know something is wrong with it they shouldn't release it.

I however think they are going a bit overboard with the changes in 1.04... not everything has to be changed in this version. 1.04 probably has 10X more changes than all the other patches combined.

Whatever Flay is doing, is done in the best interest of the mod, there's no reason for him to screw over his own creation.

Whatever changes, ideas, he is implementing, is implemented after considerable thought, and if thoughts and discussions come to no conclusion? Then slap it on a beta server, and see for himself how it works out, good? Stay, bad? Remove. This is all just simple logic here...

Not trying to sound angry, don't get me wrong. I just find that many people worry a LOT about the changes, to the point where they strongly protest against changes that they've not even tried. Just keep your perspectives open, and trust Flayra's judgement, he's brought the mod this far hasn't he?

The idea is that this will be the last server-side update until 1.1. So they're going to try to get everything fixed in this one patch so they don't see months of "OMG! Y DOESNT ____ WORK YET???!" until 1.1's release.

I am not worried about the changes. I just can't wait to play the new version.

There's been a lot of changes and undoubtedly they want to get the balance right before they go back to the drawing board (a little) for 1.1. Gripe too much and you won't have any dev team to gripe at.
