Dewelding -- How Its Done

<div class="IPBDescription">A tutorial.</div> Ok guys.

You face a problem in game.
A lousy marine with high body odor welds a vent, or even welds u in a vent.
What u gonna do, suicide? HAHAHA

Deweld it.

How?

Simple.

Become a gorg, and spit the BAR or whatever is there.

After 1 or a few shots point blank it will break, AND MARINES CANNOT REWELD IT FOR THE ENTIRE ROUND.




I accidentially found this when a marine welded me into the marine access vent on the map with the turntable and atmospheric processing LOL

I was like a darnit spit the thing in anger, bang it bust.



Not sure if this is in the manual because the manual is so complicated to read :-P

    Actually, whether or not a gorge can break a welded vent is entirely up to the mapmaker.

    Yes that might be true but alot of vents CAN be broken, its sad to see not many know this

    Yes it must be upto the mapmaker or whatver.
    because i have tried this and nothing had happened must be certain vents or something. no idea.
    I thought the idea was that u werent sposed to be allowed to. I think it is better if the gorge cant break them.

    There are two different welded vents ones that are completely flat and one that has a bar across it that you can shoot through the one with the bar across it you can GORGE SPIT OPEN the other you cant its stuck like that untill the end of the round.

    are there other things the gorge can "spit" and activate?

    reason being: in the map with subspace/noname (name escapes me) in the engine room, once I started spitting at the glass and I got a "weild" bar at the bottom that went up as i spit, then slowly went down, wasn't quite fast enough to "finish" it with adren, and i forgot about it till just now

    anyone else experience this? does it do anything? am I insane?

    The weld's breakability is depandant on the mapper's design. From what you say, it appears the welds on bast are destroyable. Very nice to know. However, not all maps follow this rule.

    nope thats all the gorge can do, as far as welds go the gorge cant weld a vent. He can only spit open the ones with a bar across them, but I do believe that the bar weld is the entity that can be shot open while the flat weld entity is the one where you cant open.

    yeah, that's a dern nifty thing particularly if you're trying to follow a team mate through a dark, dirty vent. I think I probably use that more than regular sight.

    When I was a marine this one guy kept welding a vent even though it was closed and he broke it open after that we lost because of that guys stupidity. He let every skulk, lerk, gorge, and fade into their base so easily. But its great that you can break the vent as a alien I didn't know that before.
