<div class="IPBDescription">few pics of hive room</div> hi everyone, just a few pics of my soon-to-be-finished hive, set in the engine room of the ship. the last pictures i posted lead to this hive. Im still gonna add some detail , as the r_speeds allow it.     looks neat, my only gripe is the "lightnshadow" texture, it looks totally out of place and somehow not right. maybe lower the fx amount on it and kinda "redo" it? Looking forward to more of it!

    forgot those 2 pics , gives an idea of the shape of the whole room( vents still have to be added)

    ImaTarget: yeah you are right bout that shadow , texture needs to be redone , looks to clean and square

    Flayra: thx m8 , yeah i hope to get this one done , so far so good , bout 40% done(including a full layout) ,just have the details too add, ressources looking good too atm and the r_speeds are excelent

    Mendasp: yeah the infestation is very minimum, maybe add some more later, i like a good infestation myself, but i find a small one is good to , makes the room look smarter when theres no hive there

    Ollij: yeah i had the hive facing the other way , but it was giving a weird effect when looking right into the opening , but you are right it looks dodgy , il turn it 90d. thx

    Hey Speaceape, I hope you are adding some of that alien fungus to the hive (I expect 70% would make it look nice as its a big open area) or your making a texture including all the alien slime on it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> gj keep it up!

    Your r_speeds are very low for the amount of detail you got. Try making something on the ceiling, maybe a cylindryical piee of machinery with some pipes running around it?

    Wow ... that looks fantastic ... it definitely looks like some sort of machinery room. I agree about the light thing on the floor looking wrong. It took me a minute to even figure out where that light was coming from. I also think it needs more infestation, but not too much ... the room looks too cool to cover it up with slime. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    that reactor looks really good - nice details and texturing on it.... as for the texture shadow, you should just use a directional light_spot aimed out coming from inside the reactor window. it will look more natural i think.

    i'd also place the hive itself in a more defensible location. right now it's right out in the open. check out how the hives are set up in ns_caged - each hive is safely tucked away, which is good. also, a bit more infestation would be nice.
