    In its current state, yes, Steam is awful. The interface is nice, but come on, it doesn't automatically cache what you download? Nobody wants to have to redownload a whole program every single time they play it. It's annoying and time-consuming with a small CS patch, so I can only imagine how awful it'd be with a whole game. Keep the GUI, but fix the infrastructure.

    well something did happen, im updating the already updated CS now <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->


    i think you can place CS 1.6 in the steamcache folder then you don't have to redownload every time, but im not sure.

    yea the interface is nice, but its REALLY unstable - its kinda like when 95 came out, the interface was okay and user friendly but it was REALLY unstable.
