I'm poor
Ok.. I'm poor at the moment.. my house got broken into so there is not gonna be a new computer for a while... fear not, my computer was not stolen - but my tv and dvd player was... and for some strange f**ked up reason they took one of my 5.1 speaker set....I mean, take em all - at least then I can get a new set from my insurance company ...

This is just a general message to you all to remind you that whilst I am not mapping - I am still making textures and so forth... (remember ns_wad.wad ?)

Plus I also make sprites.

and models for maps...

So to sum up:

If you need -

* Textures
* Sprites
* 3D Models for maps

Come to Hanz's one stop arty-farty shop .....

    I don't know how I missed that wad. Some of those textures look like they would fit really well in my map. I hope you keep up the good work!

    ta for the thoughts peoples...

    as a really unusual way to pay you back i've put together a model for anyone who wants to use it in their map. It's about 60 polys. But it looks crate to me....I mean looks great..

    I'd rather have the textures, and build it with worldbrushes, considering models doesn't block VIS.

    true. it's probably best to stick with small objects like cars and...

    hahaha! i just wrote "cars" unconciously!! That's braindamage

    i meant flatscreens, magazines and kitchen stuff and such.

    60 polygons for a 6-sided box? You do realize you should only have 2 triangles per side, which means 12 polygons in total?

    It's got a lip around the top and bottom which adds quickly to the count... including both lips, the most spartan use of polys would put it at (6 sides) + (2 lips) x (4 sides + 4 overhangs) = 22 faces = 44 polys. If you don't square off the corners of the lips, you could theoretically add more.

    Sw33t textures!!

    /me wants that crate in his marine start.

    Or perhaps just the textures, considering models can't be half-lit / half-unlit

    /me downloads the wad to see if they are in there... and then in the official wad... and will come back here for them if they aren't in there...

    I really like how that looks hanz

    lol... well, the textures are in my wad....so go and make as many crates as your heart desires..
  • KilltoyKilltoy Join Date: 2002-03-28 Member: 358Members
    I downloaded the wad as well. There are a couple nice crate textures in there! Right now crates are some of the last elements I'm going to added to my map. If I do use your textures, I'll be sure to let you know and give you credit for them.

    mmmm, this model might come in handy for when people reach/near the plane limit (and r_speeds limit)
  • HanzGruberHanzGruber Join Date: 2002-01-25 Member: 47Members
    that's what I thought...cause people were complaining about too much wpolys and planes and all that..
  • realityisdeadrealityisdead Employed by Raven Software after making ns_nothing Join Date: 2002-01-26 Member: 94Members, NS1 Playtester, Contributor
    *nods*

    Yeah, I definitely want to add a couple w_poly based crates with the texture on it in my MS, but will probably end up using the model in the end. The only reason I'd pick a world brush in the first place is because of the irregular style of the lighting in that room. A model would be lit kinda funny in there methinks.
