<div class="IPBDescription">Anyone used this?</div> Has anyone used photoshop elements? Or could you perhaps show me examples of art people have done with it. I notice it is FAR cheaper than normal photoshop, but I dont want to walk into another paint shop pro 6 where its near impossible to do anything worthy of showing off.

I use elements, I don't have much trouble with it.... on the other hand, I liked Paint Shop Pro too, but PSP is more appropriate for sprite art than actual drawing. Photoshop Elements is limited in filters and doesn't have an easy access colour wheel, so you have to either manually select colours or use swatches. Something else I'd advise looking into is getting a graphite tablet, www.wacom.com has the best brand of them, it's like a pen for your computer.

Here's some of my old work

To be frank, the big thing about photoshop is it's brushes, and I think brushes are generally maintained in elements as well. If you are really unsure download trial versions from their website, see how you like it. Oh, and the wacom tablet things come with Photoshop LE usually, which is slightly similiar to elements, although I think it's still weaker. Another program worth note is Painter and Painter classic, which tries to emulate traditional media

Thanks for the help. I have used art tablets at school before, and I probably will invest into it. And yes I think you are right about PSP being good for sprites, but for making quality sigs, it cant cut it.

I thought Photoshop Elements was an expansion of some sort for PS, like more filters or something...

My wacom tablet came with Elements, and my gf's came with LE. I think it depends on where you buy them (I got mine in the UK, hshe got hers in the US).

or it may be because you may have bought yours after elements 2 came out, and she bought hers before.... I think they upped which photoshop they included when they released their newest tablet. And what version of painter did yours come with? mine came with classic but I also have painter 5 installed because I found it for cheap

Ok so can Elements actually do neat sig type stuff, or is it more brushes...

depends what you want to do, and PSP can do a lot of the "neat sig stuff" too. I'm just not a big fan of filters
