Bug Or What?

hey everyone just wanted to sak something, it may be a bug or just me, but whenever i push tab to display the scores and that, i can only see the aliens team of kill/death, i can never see what the marines tally looks like, it bugs me a bit as i cannot see how i'm playing when i join the marine team. if anyone has heard of this before and found a cure then please let me know.

It's supposed to be like that.

The marine kills arent displayed, because it promotes rambo players. Or something stupid like that.

Personally I think they should be displayed, but I'm not a dev, so I don't count.

This is completely intentional. Marine scores are hidden to prevent people from saying "OMG I R L33T LOOK AT MY $K0RE", then running off to go kill more aliens to improve their "l33t $k0re", all while their base is being rocked. The marine team's about teamwork, not fragging.

That is a very good thing that way. Aliens are supposed to be a teamwork too, but in pub servers i sometimes see only frag hungry aliens and that pisses me off.

Well, there is actually a way seeing marines scores: just write status in conolse.
Scores are there, a bit hard to find but they are there.

Csports, heh. As was said in another thread, you can see Marine frags in console if you care <b>that</b> much about frags. Honestly, I think alien kills being removed from the scores as well would be pretty nifty.

Maybe just show deaths for each and every player and not kills. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

remove deaths as well. I use to go kamikaze all the time, so I usually and upwinning with 20/73 or something like that <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'>.

Voogru's servers have both Marine & Khaara scores disabled(via plug-in). IIRC Voogru has managed find a way to prevent the status command from displaying scores.

I saw a server with that "Voogru's Alien No-Score" too... it sucked. If the alien skulks are bent on racking up kills early game then they will do what they are supposed to do: make the marine expansion so much harder. I'd rather see deaths removed then kills for the aliens, btw. Then skulks wouldn't be afraid to die and would continue instead running back to the hive.

Thats your opinion and you are entitled. I on the other hand like the no-score mod. It removes A LOT of the "I r l337 cuz 1 hav hi scor" type of crapola so prevalent on other servers. Teammies actually work together more on no-score servers in my expierence

IMO, I would like to see the ability to view all player's scores when tournament mode is ON.

I'd also like it if alien/marine scores were able to be turned on with a server command

some people like them off-- play on those servers

some people like them on-- play on those servers

i'd like to see all of the scores on, as it's good to see how good you are compared to others (clans usually look for good ratios, following orders, etc.)

I don't get displaying one team's scores either. Should be both or neither in my opinion.

Displaying scores in Tournament mode only (can be disabled by server) sounds good to me.

I like that the marines scores aren't showed up , it really improves the teamwork as nobody cares about the points. They should remove the scores of the aliens too , but that would make the table of the scores quite empty ( a table of scores without scores lol )

And BTW , I use to play in servers with more than 20 ppl in them . When the other team is wining and I push tab to see where am I in the table I can't see me because I'm down in the end. I've tryed to move the scroll bar but it doesn't work. Anyone has an idea?

Well, aliens need to play in another way, with less team work. Sure, they must stick out for eachother, cover the gorge, defend the hive etc. but skulks need to attack, period. Must pub-players wouldn't attack as furiously if they had no scores...
