I dont think theres a way to change the spray, as theres no console command to change spray. Also, if you change your spray, it only shows the new one in the next game not the current one.

If you place a TF IN the corner of a wall as far as you can, theres only 3 sides the aliens can attack. If you put two turrets on each side, they cant hide from the turrets.

Maybe we should have a comm IQ test?
When you get in the chair, it asks you some basic questions to determine if you're capable. Stuff like... What is 3+3, or how many letters in the alphabet?
Or...
<b>HOW DO YOU MAKE SURE THIS TF DOESN'T GET MUNCHED, WITH 3 TURRENTS!?!?</b>
Jerks come in all shapes and sizes, some wear clan tags, some wear NSPlayer.
The most important thing is not to treat someone like a jerk until they prove themselves to be jerk. Even then it's futile, how would a jerk respond to your accusations? Well like a jerk of course!
Better off not letting it bother you too much, that's what the jerks want, to spread their vile jerkitude to all the decent folk who just want to slice up a few hives, blast a few skulks, and lick a few gorges.
"Come 'ere and let me lick you gorge. Oh you sweet, sweet chocolate gorge..."

Classic shock, and btw too late *slaps shock*
My personal oppinion is if someone starts disobaying orders I really don't give a damn how good a shot they are because they're absolutly completly and UTTERLY useless, when I com I quite often will not try and do a 2 hive lock down, as such clanners and other people who think they know wtf they're doing end up being even less usefull.
As the enemy are soon to have fades, as they make their final assult on my massive resource collection structure, as the HA upgrade finishes and everything looks like its pulling together and BlueGhost's marines will once again get to crush all resistance befor their mighty HA/HMG equipped 7 man squad 'o death carving up the few fades and nuking demolishing all hives befor them.
A clanner joins the server.
Said clanner then goes 'how many hives do we hold?' random person answers with 'none'. 'OMG!!! NEWB COM?' '*silence*' 'OK you you come with me, we'll go take that hive' As the alien assult approaches my res towers, as I just have 0 res because I've upgraded an armoury, and the 3rd armour upgrade.... The clanner steals half my marine corps.. and runs them to the empty hive...
As the resource towers fall, the intire plan crumbles for want of man power, complex resource calculations* blowing as dust on the wind... The clanner says 'we need to secure this hive, OK com? Build a phase gate here.'

all I gotta say is, the tag doesn't mean skill. Don't judge a book by its cover etc etc etc. A lot of clanners are jerks who think they > You, and most of the time its not even true.

like said, not all thoose that is in a clan is good.. and i hate thoose that joins a game and say "ok, everyone follow me" without having an idea of what the comm is planning.... then there is some idiots that actually follows him and ruins everything.
and as someone said that you get really annoying on the comm and vote him out becaus you think he's a newb etc... everyone that can comm.. everyone that is good at it have had the samething.. you have to start somewhere. why not instead help the newb comm and tell him what todo... one game that i was in there was a newbie comm, but me and another one helped him out and we actually won the game...
i myself can't comm.. i haven't even tryied.. just in a game when we were 2 vs 2 and i got killed while building up some stuff so the one that was comm ran there to build it up, so i jumped in and gave him a healthpack and some turret.. that's all.. but it doesn't mean that i don't know how thing's should be put and so on. even if there is a 1337 comm you can still help him.. and more when it's a newb comm.
about being in a clan i wouldn't mind it, if just the one's in it was nice and we had a good time playing. it doens't even have to be a clan, but just a "gang" that plays togheter.
as has been said quite often, it depends on the clan-players you get... Some are complete ******s, who complain at anybody who doesnt know everything about the game (and i supose they do??)
others are friendly ppl who are willing to help the new players get into the game, and dont complain if a marine commander is new, and doesnt know what to do etc (im one of these 2nd breeds of clan players - i help anyone on the server who is unsure of what to do, if i myself knows the answer)
All im saying really is a common conclusion.. Dont judge a player by his tag....

Today I made a test on how I would be treated with a tag or without one and this is the results. I went gorge ofcourse because they seem to be yelled at the most. After just having my name simply Cyborgguineapig I noticed some players doing the usual complaints and rants. When I added a stupid -(SP)- in front of my name I noticed the players agreed with everything I said and did. Especially people with tags themselves. So yes you get treated differently depending on wither you have a tag or not but this is human nature and is not new to humanity. As the animals we are, we like to intimidate our rivals and compete with looks, no matter what you learned about looks not being the most important part of a persons life. Some people join clans to have fun, to intimidate others, or to put there nice skills to use. If NSPLAYER joins the game the name alone signals us that this is a complete newbie. Image can be deceiving as they say for all I have to do is type in console "name NSPLAYER." But by doing so I will have a greater chance of being yelled at, kicked just because, or treated like a loser.
cl@n tags even seem to pull more weight than experience and kill/death ratios. It's simply disgusting. I was skulking one round with a k/d ratio of 16/7 - and was doing a good job of trying to organize everyone. One of those l33t cl@nn3r$ joined the game and five minutes later held a k/d ratio of 1/5. After this pathetic display of skill, he begun to harass me for going gorge and helping defend the 2nd hive. He then complained about where I placed my OC's and DC's, and then kept on saying how we'd lose the round unless everyone did what he said. Some people listened to him, others didn't, but still... He was making an **** out of himself.
Long story short, we won, the l33t Clan dude still had a horrible k/d ratio, still bitched about everything the team did, and failed to contribute positively in any aspect - yet people some people listened to him?
Hmmm, well first off, I agree that any player, clanner or not, that is whining about another player not being good or whatever needs to SUYF... Telling some guy he is a dweeb for building something you wouldn't have isn't going to make that player any better. I'll admit, I've gone off on a few players sometimes, but I generally try and coach these players, letting them know why what they did was a mistake, and giving them suggestions to help them avoid that mistake in the future. No one joined the server to get made fun of, and unless their intent is to ruien the game, try to take it easy on them.
As for clan team stacking, I absolutly hate when it happens. I've had big problems with members of my clan all joining the same team on public servers. First of all, it makes the clan look bad. Everyone on the server starts calling your clan names, and says how much you suck cause we're playing against newbies and not against other clans. Second, what good is it to be playing games that they can't lose? How will the players in the clan ever get any better if all they do is play games that don't offer a challenge? When I play pub games with my clan, I usually go random and end up on the team that has none of my players on it, and we lose, but at least I feel good knowing that I am better off having had the challenge of playing against them.
Finally, I would never judge a player just because they are wearing a clan tag. I mean, if I recognize the tag, it makes it a bit easier to get a quick idea about how good that player is, but I'm still going to be watching them. I'm not going to give a guy an HMG just cause he's the only one on the server with a clan tag, if I see another marine doing better, I'm going to trust him with the good stuff.
<!--QuoteBegin--JKooL+Jan 17 2003, 02:11 AM--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (JKooL @ Jan 17 2003, 02:11 AM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Long story short, we won, the l33t Clan dude still had a horrible k/d ratio, still bitched about everything the team did, and failed to contribute positively in any aspect - yet people some people listened to him?<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> Also, judging a players skill by his kill/death ratio can be a mistake. The kills and deaths do not take into account how well that player is helping the team, for instance, it doesn't record how many enemy structures he has eaten, or how many times he has defended an attack on friendly structures, or how many times he came to the aid of another alien under attack. When I play stricktly to get kills, I almost always end up in first place, but when I play strictly to benifit the team, I hardly have any kills because I am focusing on the big picture. There are many games where I have only had one or two kills, but I know I was the most effective player on the server because I was scouting and reporting information to my other players, or because I was spending my time taking out marine expantions.
Usually I judge a player's skill by how many skulk kills they have, its very easy to rack up the kills as fade, but skulking requires more talent, and paitence.
and if the clanners are so bad, try going to a server which doesnt have any.
Crying on the forums just makes you look like a whiney newb.
Well the few time I've commanded I tend to spoil KNOWN clan members just because they can shoot. It's my job to get the team the win so if I drop an HMG than I want results. I do feel bad for the people that are just learning the game so I'm usually really nice.
As alien on pubs just a few guys can bring in the win. So if we have a n00b gorge than I don't mind as much cause the skulk screen can cover for his mistakes.
There was this one NSPlayer gorge that we all thought was afk and we were screaming for him to go back but he didn't. Well he was saving for the third hive from the get-go so I laughed my butt off when he threw it up and everyone just shut up.
I really think most people are just learning this game so we all have to just give it time and things will even out.
I wasn't trying to generalize guys, sorry if I came off as a whiner. I just wanted to point out that having a tag, even if it's a made up name, somehow makes people think you're a little more experienced.
I play a LOT of NS. At least every night, at least for an hour (usually a few, and on the weekends, quite a damn lot). It's very true that players with a lot of experience are going to put down players that are new. This is going to happen and nothing is really going to stop it. You can try to be nice about it, but in general everybody who has a lot of experience is going to get mad when some newbie does something like throw down a mov/sens chamber first, or builds a tfact and 10 turrets at base but no armory/obs.
Some people take getting mad at newbies to an extreme though, especially over voicecomm. This just gets annoying. I love joining a game that's at it's most strongest point and seeing people yell at each other. It's a damn game. At least try not to take it so seriously. The best thing you can do as a newer player is just listen as best as you can and try to do what the majority of your team is telling you to do (ie, don't be gorge).
As another general rule, on a public server, clan stacking = not cool. All you're going to do is [most likely] make the skill lopsided and make the game much less fun -- or the other team will F4 out before the game is anywhere near from over.

Also, judging a players skill by his kill/death ratio can be a mistake. There are many games where I have only had one or two kills, but I know I was the most effective player on the server because I was scouting and reporting information to my other players, or because I was spending my time taking out marine expantions.
and if the clanners are so bad, try going to a server which doesnt have any.
Crying on the forums just makes you look like a whiney newb.

Wow. Ummm.... I don't agree with that.
Generally I find that the tag means nothing at all since people can just make them up (and do).
Except that sometimes, it means that they are terrible. Check out this thread on the voogru.com forum.

Sometimes they are really good too, if its a really exclusive clan. But, whatever. In my experience it often means nothing at all.
edit: wups, I just realized thats a quote from page one..... of five.
NSPlayer: Can I join your clan?
[Windelkron]Windelkron: Sorry, invite only

This is one of those hidden truths that needs to be sticky on top of the forums for all new and old players to see. KD ratios are all well and good and i even get excited over them occasionally "<i>Dudes ive got top score with a hellova lead, we must be in deep S***!</i>" But they dont mean jack when the outcome of the game comes around. There have been times where ive finished up with only a few kills and lowest score (ok pretty often:)), but it doesnt take into account if i was a killer gorge, or maybe the only 5 guys i killed were all defending the second hive and i managed to tag the last of them AND thier PG before replacements could arrive. Or even better on some maps, find the ultimate snipe perch and tagging (parasite) EVERY single marine that ever left thier base for my bretheren to see. I play <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> alot can you tell? Anyhoo sorry to go off subject but he made a good point, deserves its own seperate post imho.
