If anyone has a satillite uplink or a DSL modem, though, we'd need it for a net connection and all that. Let's try to shoot for a March 14th date, however. Where exactly would still need to be set in stone, but if it'll be at the area I have in mind, it'd be in a craft store in north St. Paul. Room that we'd be using is fairly big for computers and whatnot, but the downside is no net connection unless someone has a satillite uplink or DSL modem, as previously stated. If anyone can satisfy either request, please let me know by email asap. Stay tuned for more news.

I live in Coon Rapids and love this game. I would be interested in participating but I would be more interested in combining your party with ours. I am a semi-Staff member for a LAN party that takes place in Faribault, MN. We have about 25 regulars with our largest event at 40 and we hold our party on the first Saturday of every month. It is likely that I am coming to the "Lan-Fraggers" Lan in Faribault, and I'll be playing NS almost exclusively since I'm not big on CS. I'll likely bring my own server dedicated to NS.
I still think that we should try to do a primarily NS LAN party. If anyone's got a space I'd be willing to help take up the torch and work towards it.

I am trying to get more NS players to participate in our event and that is one of the major reasons I posted here. I agree with you that there need to be more Lan parties in the Twin Cities area but I think part of the problem is that the cost of renting halls is sooooo expensive. We have a permanent DSL connection at our location and the building is just perfect, you would have to come see it as the pictures on the website realy don't do it justice. Also if/when we turn this into a multiple day event we can bunk up right there in our building as we have total control, it is used for nothing else (we even have a kitchen area). We also have 5 or 6 sponsors that provide us with prizes to give away at the door and for refering the most amount of people. We charge only $10 and that goes directly for the rentals of chairs and tables plus all the pop you can drink, we run it as a non-profit entity and all staff members are volunteers. As I am one of the few participants from the Twin Cities area I will pick up anyone that wants to go on April 5th but does not want to or cannot drive themselves. I for one do not mind driving 45 minutes to attend a good lan party. Hell, I've driven 10 hours for lans before so 45 minutes is nothing. However, I have had the problem of driving to a lan and having it be completely worthless. There was this one lan I went to that at one point most of the people there were STANDING AROUND ONE GUYS COMPUTER WATCHING SOUTH PARK. I was understandably upset (who the hell goes to a lan to watch TV programs??!?!) at the lack of gaming. WARPIG, your lan seems pretty dedicated to gaming and you will likely see me in the near future. I own a mini-van so perhaps people living in the Metro area can carpool with me. I am not going to be able to make it to the next lan, but the one in May is going on my calender.

Applicator, there WILL be a May party and a June party. Ther WIL NOT be a party in July as the first Saturday in that month is on the weekend of the 4th.

Yes it is a carpeted facility with 4 rooms of varying size, our own bathrooms, a kitchen/breakroom area and about 144 ethernet ports so there will not be cat-5 cable all over the place.

We are very dedicated to gamming and the party is always a good one. Although there was about an hour where people got into this Benny Hill kick but that was quickly squashed. There are a large variety of games played but as I said earlier I love this game and I am trying to get enough NS players there to keep a dedicated server running full the majority of the time. Hope to see many of you there, its always a blast meeting new people that have the same interests.
