<div class="IPBDescription">afternoon, nighttime, or postmidnight?</div> I was playing NS this afternoon and all of the servers I tried (3 or 4) were completely n00bified. The whole Kharaa team was yealling and bitching at all the nub gorges that were building walls of lame and no RT's. This was really frustrating so I quit. It seems that whenever I play NS past 10:00 PM the games are a lot more fun. Last night i was playing with <x/o> and n|G, it was alot of fun. We totally pwned the marines. So I have decided to try and not play in the afternoons because it sucks. Any comments?

Night time (in central US time that is) is usually when I play as well.

Mostly on the 3am server, and occasionally on ClanVortex. I enjoy messing with the 3am and -D- guys. Heh, clanners are such great folk, almost makes me wanna try to join one. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'>

Well there's my 2 cents worth, back to Hitman 2. I beat the game the day I bought it, now I've gotta get collect all the guns!

I'll usually play a game or two of NS whenever I get that itch to sink my teeth into something. I figure a vitual marine is a better choice than one of my roommates.

You can generally be sure that there are no 12 year olds playing at 1:00 in the morning. So you don't get whining and bitching.

On the other hand you seem to get more try hards who are innadiquate in real life and who believe cheating to make people think they are good will make themselves feel better. On top of that there are rarely server admins keeping an eye on things at this time.

There was one guy last night when I played that managed to get a a score of 23 kills 2 deaths against the marines in a short game where we phase rushed and won. His name was "NS Player" and he never said word to anyone, even when a few people accused him.

Definately night time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love playing at because:
People i know always play at night.
More regualrs at night time, the later its gets the better sometimes.
Also i can get into the mood more as most NS maps r at night. Doesnt feel right to play in the day.
+ not hot and can see the monitor.

Usually an hour or two after school and night-time are the ticket for me. On weekends it's <i>definitely</i> night-time though. Stay up late and play NS, whee!

Seriously, in my experience, the British servers have more mature, smarter players. I'm not exatcly sure why. A n00b occasionally walks in, or even a pack of n00bs, but you'll always have at least 3 guys on each team willing to work together. A lot more voicecomm, too, for whatever reason.

I'm a regular on the [COFR] server. It's a pretty nice, unlaggy server, with a lot of cool players in it. You'll almost always find 2 COFR members in there, and they make a point in dividing themselves equally amonst the teams (in fact, one of their server rules is no clan stacking, applying also to themselves). A lot of cool people in that server; and some pretty good commanders too (including me, at least I hope people consider me as such...).

While I don't think you should try to get into this server and only this server - you could be filling it up and taking a slot I want - it's generally a good idea to find a clan server with cool regulars and stick with it. Avoid the public-for-the-sake-of-being-public-servers (i.e. blueyonder and such), because those are always filled with random people. The GWB servers, IMHO, seems to be pretty scattered skill-wise and full of lamers and n00bs. Nano-gridlock is pretty good, though almost always full.

Oh well, I guess all I can say is that it really isn't a time thing, because there will always be n00bs no matter what time it is. Rather, it's a place thing. There are just some servers that, mystically, always have cool regs and have limited n00b swarmage. Just use trial and error until you find a server you like.

If you think about it the only poeple that are up that late playing computer games are hardcore gamers. And hardcore gamers are usually seriuos about the game. So I'd say late night is the best time to play.
