<div class="IPBDescription">The basics</div> Well, I am proud to (finally) announce the Active Evolution websites beginners guide.
The guide covers everything a new marine need to know to play the game. It covers basic controls, the command menu, marine structures, alien structures and the different species of alien you will face.
The Active Evolution site is can be found here <a href='http://members.lycos.co.uk/userselection/' target='_blank'>here</a> and the guide is on the menu on the left.
I will be writing a guide for new aliens and hope to have that online in a few days, followed by a commanding basics tutorial.
I hope you enjoy the site (what there is of it atm). If you can think of any suggestions of anything that is missing from the guide, please post them up here.

I have been working on my own tactics on NS already. Ive come up with a few and I may share them depending on if I want to or not.
Though, good to see that your helping out.
Two lmg marines even with 2nd level upgrades can kill a single fade easily
Since that guide is for newbies, it's important that they learn that when fade is attacking base/outpost/outhouse wisest thing is to rush them with lmg singing because if nothing else, this will (hopefully) delay them until people good enough to take them out arrive
Other is that if Comm scream "<place> under attack! TF down! Everyone to phase!" or something along lines it means that a really important place is about the get run over and they should just jump to the phase WITHOUT restocking
I can't stress how important this is and how infuriating it is to see three people around Armory when a hive spot is under attack
Good guide otherwise
As for the commander thing, I think I will add that into the guide.
Once again, thanks.
Any more for any more?
Instead of this, I suggest something like following
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Parasite - This is a nasty ability. They shoot a "parasite" into you from a distance and after that, every alien can see you throught walls. There's no way to remove a parasite except dying. You know you have been parasited when it reads "Parasite Detected"(Was it that? Can't remember) at the bottom middle of your screen<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I understand that you don't want to include everything and their hamster into the guide but the way you descripe fades, the moment new player sees a fade, he shits his pants, quits, deletes NS, deletes HL, formats his HD, throws his computer out of the window and hides under his bed, crying from fear
This tends to cause those that remain to stay in base and spam something like "They got fades. We can't fight them with our 3rd level armor and weapons unless you give us HAs and HMGs" while every signle outpost is being munched to pieces
And that has actually happened to me
And you say this has actually happened to you..? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
lol. No, your right. I wrote the individual alien thing in a bit of a rush. Thats why I started this thread, so cheers for the input.
Anyone else got a suggestion?
