<div class="IPBDescription">possibly effective for all maps</div> First thing is to relocate to a hive. Run to nearest hive at start of map without building anything. Have the last man in line stop at the nearest recource node at the hive your moving to and he builds that(*note-most hives have a rezzy outside). The rest move into the hive. You drop a CC, 1 spawn!!!, and an armory. 2 rines stay there and the rest move to the next hive. at this time you work on just holding and drawing recources. get a tfac and a turret to begin with. if you cant afford it (meaning they took out the rezzy at original base and one outside your hive) just send them with mines. mines do buy you time when your saving for a tfac and turrets. after thats up than start your process for a phase gate. once you get the ability for phase and are linked to both hives you are just going to start digging in for the long hall. have 1 man at a time go to get more rezzys while the rest sit and guard. at this point mines are more valuable than turrets and a heck of a lot cheaper.

yes this strat is harder to pull off in games over 7v7 but nonetheless it's a fun one to try.

    It is good to get 2 hives quite soon after and moving to a hive is great, but just make sure your marines are good enough to take out the skulks if they happen to rush your base as well. Also make sure you know their hive before you go rushing into their main hive (actually you can win this game this way, especially if commander drops health and ammo for them).

    my biggest thing now is the mines. When NS first came out they were used to protect main base but now are very rarely used. So I used them now to seal off a hive I want to build in. Its cheap and very effective.

    Hive relocation isn't worth the hassle, those 30 rp on the comm chair kill your teching

    You recycle the Comm chair, and you save res by not building a TF and turrets to defend it at marine start.
