O_o :: o_O :: O_O :: o_o ::
To celebrate....anything, here are some screenshots of the few areas ive done of Mystic. There not near completion and some may drastically change in time, but till then, the shots.

Mystic is at 40% nearly, and i still gotta do the 3 hives, redo the marine spawn and map practically half the inbetween corridors, etc...

Many of the shots are old and you may already seen them...sorry for that.

this one is a maintenance room, the vents one. Node in the lower level and future access to vent (for aliens) from there.

well, im aware that the NS textures are not that big to have every mapper use different ones so everymap looks different than the rest, but i dont mind getting compared with other NS levels, as nothing and tanith are great levels and official. Using similar textures makes you more inmerse in the game, as it gives the impression that every map is connected with the other ones in some way. Maybe theyre near in space or are something like that. I do also think it makes easy to play as you see this and that texture for vents, for example, in the official maps, and then see the same in a new map and so you already know that'll be a vent. At the same time, its impossible not to use this textures as theyre fabulous (or however its written) and very "inmerssive" as i already said.

Im not flaming you, hehhe, its just an opinion ^_^

For example. My other level, as alot of the new ones ive seen, use the wall_lab textures more known as (dont get angry with me KFS :\ ) "Eclipse texture". Well. why cant they use them? is it possible that human builders though of making 2 planet stations with the same material? or is that an stupid idea?? i dont think so. As i said, it connects all maps and gives the idea of a whole. (? wut ?)

    uh a uh! Johnny Bravo!

    hehehe.

/me bashes DooM on the head.

Nothing's lighting is most definaltely NOT dull. Far from it.

Looking really great, Blueman, you have some fantastic ideas and architecture there.

I was talking about the lighting solely, not the level design/textures, Blueman Tanith definitely is bright, but I always thought Nothing was bright o_o I don't really remember the lighting, I just recorded it inside my little brain as a bright map But you're probably right. Maybe I just turned my brightness too far up on my monitor ^_^

    Looks great.

I specially like the sewer area (I love those pipes )

    Keep it up.

That is some very nice brushwork, but I agree that the lighting could use some work, at least in the sewer areas. There's just not enough contrast between light and shadow. Try maybe dimming every other light in a room, and see if you can make some of the cielings darker so skulks can hide up in the corners.

Very nice. In some of the shots you seem to have overused the r25 floor texture with all the little round circles, and the lighting could use a bit more contrast/darkness, but other than that--great job.

May I ask what your plane usage is, just out of curiosity?

mmm i thinks its 30-40%, not much really. I got 2 more pics, although thyre not final as the lighting and arquitecture is still in a very early stage.

ooh. btw. im aware that the sewers part must be darker. ll just remove the texture lighting and leave the light_spots.
