What Would Happen If?

What would happen If i put in other custom skins or whatever from other hl mods. Like a custom weapon model from DOD or cs? I know the sound files are ok but im not sure about the actual models.

    at least the animations will be **** up.

    Yea, as ImaTarget mentioned, the animations will be pretty funky. So, even if it'll look like crap, it'll work.

    He used DoD as an example of an other mod. Doesn't necessarily denote his intentions.

    Animations in HL mods are listed in a specific order. No two mods use the same animations, nor are they listed in the same order. To simplify things, it's my understanding that a mod will not ask for animations by name; rather it asks for the animation that happens to be in a certain spot within the model's available animation list.

    For example, the first four animations in the list for the DoD Colt are these:

    1: Idle
    2: Shoot1
    3: Shoot2
    4: Reload

    The first four animations in the NS pistol's list are these:

    1: Idle
    2: Idle2
    3: Reload
    4: Reload_empty

    If you put the DoD Colt in NS, the Idle2 and Reload anims would play as the Colt's shoot anims because the engine's asking for anims 2 or 3.

    At least, that's my understanding of how it works. If the NS team would kindly correct if I'm wrong, I'd appreciate it.
