Hera was the last map i learned properly because it was very confusing at first. Now, Hera is one of my favourite maps. A good fight in Reception/Holoroom and Processing is a must. Not to mention how awesome the atmospheric design of it is.
If it wasn't for the dual siege spot, hera would be a great map. Every game I played on it this weekend had marine commanders phase rush processing, set up a turret farm, lock down Vent and Data Core, and tech until all the aliens got bored with the marines not attacking and quit. Now I realise that this isn't all the maps fault. The map maker cannot really dictate strategies. I also realise that the siege range was changed after the map was made. That doesn't make it any less of a boring strat that is becoming more and more prevalent. So I guess my gripe isn't really with the map, but how it is often played.

Hera is an awesome map EXCEPT for that darn double siege point, and that in itself can totally ruin a match, especially if the aliens start in that hive out in BFE. 75% of the time however the commander doesn't even know about it, so it leads to balanced rounds, but I am seeing more and more of it recently. God I want 1.04.

The dual siege location is gone in 1.04
Holoroom takes more res to hold than it gives...
Siegeas are nerfed in 1.04 and the marines will have alot of problems with the darker parts (vent area) of the maps
I think we usually win 50/50 on hera...
