I never really understood the bottom rifle there-- and (though, correct me if I'm wrong) do you ever really see anyone fire one during the movie? The bottom launcher, yes, but I don't recall the more gun-ish part being shot. Could be wrong, though.

At any rate, how the hell would this thing fire? If that piece in the grip is the magazine, then it can't possibly be fired with a bolt-- there's just isn't any place on the weapon where a bolt would line up with the ammo <i>and</i> the barrel.

It's especially disappointing because they bring the pulse rifle in at the end of the movie-- so, if it's still in production and use, why not just let the pirates use it? Why try to improve on perfection (and fail miserably)?

beginin of the movie riply gets hit with it, its a Shock gun

The whole of Resurrection was highly disappointing. Nothing but a cash cow to be milked.

Unfortunately, that's partly because they only filmed, like, half the script, which was an interesting read. An NS map based on the ship detailed in the script would be incredible [keep out the pot fields, though--that was just goofy]. There's areas with shops, living quarters, command stations, gardens, forests, a nifty bridge thing out in space that gets destroyed, the escape pod docks, the chapel, the genetic experiments, et cetera, et cetera. It's really very nice. And since there's already a map based on the ship in the first movie [Nostromo], maps of the other movies [if done well] might be interesting. If lengthy projects...

Hmmm... I should suggest that on the mapping forum. Or has it already been suggested? Has anyone here read the A:R script?

Ah. My bad. Man-- as a concept, that sure is a lot wimpier than a 10 mm explosive tipped automatic rifle. You'd think they would have learned after Alien 3.

And crap, I forgot that they bring the pulse rifle in at the end of alien 3 and <i>not</i> Resurrection. ****.

Apparently, Joss Whedon (the Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer) is credited with the script, but he's pretty furious over the results: <a href='' target='_blank'></a>

A sample quote: "I think they literally did every single thing wrong. The production design, the casting... There wasn't a mistake they left unturned."

    I gotta agree with him . . .

I think it was a good idea... But a big **** up. They could have did alot of things better. Casting was alright though.... Considering that almost everyone in the movie is gone or dead when the action starts.

i've also wondered what kind of ammunition this gun uses.
either it shoots grenades, electricity or um bullets

lol look, its an UZI, with like a grenade launcher piece from the m4a1

It really does look like an Uzi... But damned if I know how they make it fire bullets from that clip.

And I don't blame the guy for being ticked off. I even thought the Xenomorphs were ugly [except for the fact that they finally showed the ostrich-style feet, which was nice to see them do right, finally]. Hell, if it were my story, I'd be raving mad about that crappy an outcome too. I bet Sigourney was happy, though. She got to explore that ol' human side of Ripley's, which they initially cut out of AL|ENS, which was unfortunate, but if this is going to be her attitude ["Me, me, ME!!!"] then I don't want to see the next movie because the next movie will be less of an exploration of the Xenomorphs' greater implications on the human spirit and condition than an exploration of Ripley's uteral angst. Again. Notice how it wasn't about the AL|ENS? It was all about Ripley. Ripley's everyone's God. Thanks, Sigourney.

i remember that gun, looks like a flame thrower to me...

which i always thought NS should do, fades have acid spit that like sprays everywhere and then the marines can have flamethrowers
  • Wolf_KahlerWolf_Kahler Join Date: 2002-11-29 Member: 10252Members
Flamethrowers are difficult to do with the HL engine. Now, if this were an RtCW mod, I'd be all for it, but no.

Most of the priate guns were custom made by them .So thats why they looks o strange. If you recall the character in the electric wheelc chair with his shot gun parts hidden in the chair and the guy with the gun hidden as a soup thermos.

    It was for conceilment.

According to the script, that guy's pistols were supposed to be disposable. Very popular among assassins, because they pack a punch and dont cost much. He was supposed to have, like, four up each sleeve. Empty a pair, drop it, slide out the next... That really came together on the bridge scene.
