Little Tip For Ns_caged

Holding Generator and Sewer Hives
This really applies to any hive that does not have a res node in the same room, like Generator or Sewer in ns_caged. Everyone knows that the main reason for securing a hive room is so the aliens can't build a hive there. But, a great side effect is that you also get a free defended resource node. However if there is no resource node in the hive room you have to either leave that resource undefended or waste 100 res on defending it which is next to useless. SO as an example I will use the Generator hive.
The room next to generator hive is stability monitoring and holds the resource node for that hive. Set up your phase/Turret farm in there and add a siege cannon, maybe 2 cannons if resources are being good to you. The only reason you would need to is incase a rush takes one down, you will be prepared in advance. Make sure the hive location is in range ofcourse. Same goes for sewer/pumping station. Now you might say that its really hard to protect the pumping station resource with turrets but you don't need to, just have marines phase there when you detect an enemy. So your RT is actually protected by the phase, which is inturn protected by the turret factory, and the whole shabang is protected by your trusty *cough* marines.
the picture below was made in paint and i screwed it up when saving it. I didn't fell like redoing it so you'll just have to strain your eyes. It's just a general setup and may have to be tweaked so lerks can't have their way with it from afar. the phase is right below the TF if you can't see it.

I didn't use quite the same reasoning behind it though.

Don't worry about it. Great minds think alike, I suppose.
It's an area of strategic importance - I'm amazed that *everyone* hasn't been doing that all along.
and the lerk that spikes all your stuff to death from up above??
[edit]
that is in this case.

and I said before that: "It's just a general setup and may have to be tweaked so lerks can't have their way with it from afar."
