Fade Vs Ha/hmg

I always though that marines with heavy armour and heavy machine guns out gunned fades until I went up against them in a really close match.
We were fighting for our second hive trying to hold it long enough so we could go fade but just as we got our fades along came 5 HA/HMGs, the 3 of us who were fades fell back throwing acid rockets in vain at them as they lumbered forward welding each other as they went, before we knew it they had a siege up and one of our hives was dead. When I realised that we couldn't get them with acid rockets I thought sod it and ran in close to them and started zipping round them hitting them with my slash attack all the while yelling over the mic for the other 2 fades to join me, sure enough they did and within a minute there were 5 dead marines (along with their siege) and 3 battered fades. Again though the marines came at us time and time again with HA/HMGs and again we rushed them I managed to score quite a few kills on guys I know to be very good shots in one on ones, often coming out with only 20 or so health left. Shortly after the hive was back up and we were enjoying umbra support from the lerks which made life easier.
By the time the game had turned and our 3rd hive was going up I realised I was on a score of 57 - 4 at least 30 of which had be HA/HMGs
I guess the point I'm making is as, if you have carapace as a fade and you come up against a HA/HMG get in close and mix it with him using your slash attack while running round him and you will come out top.

i think aliens have a huge upper hand in most combat situations but more people will run away incase they loes there upgrades.
Be aware, mixing it up alone with a group of HA/HMG will see you smeared across the floor. You may take one with you, but I doubt it. Also, try this. Instead of spamming rockets into a turret farm, get a lerk to fly in and slap an umbra on the TF. Now pound away with impunity.
I hate when 3 fades all crowd up at a doorway to spam acid rockets at marines while a lerk umbra's them.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, RUSH THEM AND CLAW THEM TO PEICES!!! umbra works inside their base as well out outside the door. All the doorway acid spam does is prolong the game, nothing more..
Melee combat owns. Charge up at them with celerity, circle strafe and hack away. Even the best HMGers cant keep you in their sights long enough to kill you, and every slash you connect with skews their aim even more.
Lets not forget the huge panic factor of having a 7 foot tall monster with 2 foot claws up close and personal

I also use slightly more guerilla tactics when like this... sometimes I go for regen instead of carapace, to make it easier to get in and out, then be able to heal on my own, rather than hunting down the gorge or a def node.
Totally agreeing with sekdar on the fades are /MELEE/ units without a question...
Sure they only do 40 damage per claw, but they swipe TWICE with every attack.
And they attack faster with celerity, bwahahaa
