There are some times as a mapper when you just have to ignore the 'suggestions' people make. If you try and appease everyone, you'll go crazy. Some things, people really won't care about or notice once in the game. Infestation over lights in the hives is one thing, but there are many other trivial things as well, like slight texture misalignments and 'washed out' texture lights (the actual texture, mind you).
When people start to pick at things like that, things that are really only noticable in a static image, you know you've probably got something good on your hands.
