Stick Together Marines...

<div class="IPBDescription">...but not 2 close cause you stink!</div> Ever wondered how it could be that one damn Skulk runs mad at a cluster of 5 Marines, killing 3 and injuring the other 2, decimating your Troops, then another one pops our finishing off the rest and making the Marines lose precious time?
(You dont have to be a good player to do it as an ALien. Just hold the fire button and strafe and jump and run and jump and strafe....)
Well its because we never learn to hold distance to eachother.
We should stick together, thats right, BUT NOT NEXT TO THE OTHER!
You ever heard of the german SchuetzenReihe Formation?
I ve learned it in the Army, and well I was surprised when I understood its purpose.
Its when advancing through Territory in which Hostile AMBUSHES cannot be entirely ruled out.
So if it comes to an Ambush, your whole Division doesnt get wasted by one HMG.

Its kinda like this:

..= SPACE,DISTANCE,A DISTANCE WHERE YOU CANT SMELL YOUR MATES ANYMORE, IS THAT CLEAR?

Returning to our Skulky Universe, this formation enables Marines to have more time to fire a target from distance even if the 1st Marine gets under attack and more importantly you dont waste your whole clip firing eachother a dancing skulk between yours and your mates Legs.

On the other Hand, if you re just defending a Room, dont crouch next to the other.
Instead take positions at each RoomCorner, known as "Point of domination"

and you ll will be a TRAINED TEAMORIENTED KILLA!
YEAH! Even if the others are stupid, at least YOU can cover them, and at least say to them to spread out.
I dont think I got more to say, just click the link <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    This is a very good point. One thing I love to do as a skulk is chomp on ammo hungry marines around the armory. It's so easy because they are so close together. Same thing goes for when they are out in the field. There will be 2 guys covering the guy building an RT but they are all in one cluster so I take them out no problem!

    Its wise to keep the distance, but also keep your crosshair aimed now and then at the legs of the marine you are following incase of a surprise attack.

    What do you prefer as comm? Splitting up in 2 teams or concentrate in 1 group with all Marines?
    I think the second is for the comm easier but exactly because some of your privates are too close they still become as strong as half their number <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    As a commander, I honestly prefer this: 1 marine in base, 1 marine as a Useful rambo and everyone else as my assault group. I can focus on the assault group and every once in a while the rambo guy finds something or gets someplace useful.

    Yeah! It happened to me also a couple of times, that those RightFromTheStartRushingRambos got me a Hive while I was thinking "What an idiot now we ll dye from the starting skulk rush!"
    And it kept me thinking... maybe sending some marines only to defend a hive from goerges-lone skulks might be a good idea at start, so they dont start buildng res towers and offence chambers.
    But well, I like it more when my 8 Marines stick together trying to get the last bullet on that Skulks Skull <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
    For me its the way Marines should proceed anyway:

    Stick together
    Secure position
    Build something up
    Head on to next objective

    <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Yeah without loosing time this rules and is fun for all except the Kharaa <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
