    Offensive towering, as it should be called, is mostly a desperate tactic when marines have locked down two hives. The whole alien team rushes one base while your gorge starts building in and around the base. What happens? OCs act as damage aborbers so they may freely chomp down marines without turrets taking shots at them, and if all the skulk do die somehow then marines left with OCs firing at them from all over. If there are any skulks left when the OCs go up, say goodbye. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    The resources to do this is very easy. By the time the two Hives are locked down, you should have anywhere from 3-5 RTs which means you can easily do this and have a Hive when the battle is over.

    Hmm actually, gorges are far deadlier in battle than most of you think. 3 LMGers cant take down a gorge? I can believe that, if he was being backed up by another (or several more) gorges. I notice people have taken to abuse the incredibly long range of healspray and have begun rushing bases as a group of gorges, nevermind the fact they can build OC's. The gorges simply heal each other, while one or two of them attack the marines trying to kill them, making it almost IMPOSSIBLE to kill any of the gorges unless the whole team focuses their fire on a single gorge. Easy to do? Not when you have skulks, towers and all sorts of crazy things attacking your base at once, not to mention gorges running in circles around a defensive chamber.(which is actually quite funny, we chased one of those suckers for a good 5 minuted until i managed to knife him)

    The only thing that bothers me about the gorges, is the fact that A) Their healspray attack has such a long range. B) The attack sprite for healspray is deceiving for the range the attack has.

    Often time i have been hurt by a gorge from the other side of a room, meanwhile the spray also heals any teammates the gorge may have running around the place.

    Somehow, its strikes me odd that people think gorges were meant to be a game winner...

    As a Gorge on Tantith, I was began a chamber rush to save the newly-gestating second hive. The Marines had begun a phase rush and had turrets up. I slowly built OC's in the hall to hold them back, Once I had the RP's, I'd rush ahead and build another in a zig-zag pattern, putting DC's to heal them, slowly, I made it out into the hall, where I laid down a line of OC's and constantly built/healed them. The Skulks were fighting hard to take out the base, and with plenty of OC's and DC's around the place, it slowly became easier and easier until the Turret Factory and Phase fell. After we regrouped, and the second hive was done, we attacked the final hive. This time with Fades and really ticked off Gorges leading the assault. The Fades rushed in and took on turrets, while the Gorges stayed back and laid down cover and healing. The third hive fell quickly, and the game was decided by then. It was some of the most fun I've had in NS.

    I must admit, the wall of lame is a pretty good slow-down, but gorges aren't invincible.

    1 clip= 1 dead gorg (depending on upgrades he has).

    -you can 1v1 the comm as gorg when he comes out to kill you
    ...<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    The best was when I tried this once, and after the 4 OCs finished building, the comm instantly got out of his chair and just died instantly from the flak. gg marines. Now, if the comm had built another cc, or built siege, this could've been easily countered, but apparently some comms don't use their brains...
