<div class="IPBDescription">Just a question</div> hey everyone, sry for this n00b question, but i have been reading in the general forum and have discovered that players are doing some kind of script changing, forgive my ignorance but what exactly are they doing? as i have installed many HL mods and never heard of chaging any scripts untill now, and in DOD i still have a kill/death ratio of about 13/1 so pls tell me what this is about?
if it's a cheat then i would strongly state that players do not change it, if it's just a simple way of tuning the way you play then pls explain it to me so i can do to the same. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Thanks guys.

You know how you execute commands in the console? Well a script is a list of commands, so if you execute the script, it runs all the commands, one at a time. For example, you could have a script that called for a medpack, made you say "Someone weld me" or any other command you can run in the console.

This isn't everything they do, but its the basic jist

Basically, they allow you to perform what would normally take several keypress's for one keypress.

    Did that make sense?

Hope so, keep your eye on my webby, I will be writing a scripting guide in the not-to-distant future

scripts are definitely not cheats. they are just console commands.
for example I use an auto weapon switch script: I can change my weapon just by rolling the mouse wheel (I don't have to click) and I see "Weapon 1", "Weapon 2"... in a screen corner.
it's not a cheat because it doesn't give any advantage.
