Is There Any Way To Defeat A Phase Rush?

Well, is there? I've found that if you rush the marine base, it ends up with almost instantaneous respawn and trying to kill the marines along the way to a hive results in the same thing. The main problem is that one marine can build a phase, allowing a rush of reinforcements. Attacking the phase after it's built is suicidal, and lets the marines regroup after all the aliens are in rein.... so... is there any way to defeat a phase rush w/o a team of god-like skulks?

Aye I've found one of the most effective ways to get an early phase gate down asap is to go THROUGH it and harass at the marine end, chomp em as they get out of the portals, it's not 100 percent effective but if they're dealing with you in thier base they're not dealing with your buddy on the other end killing the phase

Have a Gorge drop an OC on the phase gate. That should take it out of action.

Kill all marines in the area and gather around as free food is generated right before you eyes!

Phase rushs are early on - early on your gorge has no res to waste on OCs around a phase when you could just chomp it down.

Teamwork. The best way to defeat the rush is teamwork.
1 turret factory is NOTHING. A team of skulks with level 3 carapace can rape and pillage anything. Despite the fact that aliens are supposed to be for the 'renegades' and 'deathmatch' players, they must be played as a team.
In addition, if you really want to screw with their spawn to distract them, go for the observatory first. If that's still up, no amount of infantry portal munching will make a difference.

pugsley, he doesn´t mean to build OCs around a phasegate. just plop 1 right ONTOP of it. any alien building will do. instantly useless phasegate. No more reinforcements. then the skulks can bite it to death. tough its not really necessary. An OC makes most sense tough since its serving 2 purposes then, blocking the phasegate and some defence of the room.

imho an easy way to stop it is NOT to skulkrush the base but rather camp the hives/hives area. A failed skulkrush is what gives the marines the chance/time to move out and take a hive. Don´t eat them in the base, eat em away from the base. No backup from turrets, longer distance to walk for the marines again, no close respawn and mostly harder for the com to keep up with drops.

Thats just my opinion tough, since a game shouldn´t be over in 5 mins, so i dislike rushes in every game .

If you lose to a phase rush, your team either:

    a) has no teamwork

    b) playing a clan thats just waaaaaaaaay better.

Phase rushing does NOT work. I gaurantee. SO MANY TIMES have I played against a clan that phase rushes, so many times have we just all hopped through and ate their entire base, ending the game without need for more hives. Not convinced? challenge us and see...

phase rushing never works how you want it to, since it can just be turned around into massive destruction for Marine forces

Skulk see's Phase "oh god bless them for such awesome passage into their spawn"

Well, this sure struck in my eye. What about if they build the phaseport just outside the hive (which usually happens when they are seriously rushing)? You just camp at hive and wait for sieges? Usually in these cases all you can do is hope for teamplay, good players and that gorges already built the DCs. If the marines are even decent at hitting, it might be tough trying to take out their whole team by rushing. Letting them stay there and wait for them sounds like the worst solution to any problem imaginable
