New Some Tips

I am a noob at setting up a server, I admit that up front.

I want to set up a ns server on win2k, bandwidth and cpu arent a problem (AMD2100xp, 1600kbs, 512 of ram)

My big question is how in the heck to start up a ns dedicated server thru hlds? do i need to install hlds in my ns directory so it uses that config? I cna set it up fine thru the in-game options, and get it to run that config, but i am at a loss thru hlds..

Any/all help would be appreciated..

IF you just want to run a dedicated server, use the hlds.exe program. Ither create a shortcut or just place in the run box.

C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hlds.exe -game ns +map ns_bast

And of course edit and add the settings you want to your server.cfg inside the ns dir.
