Economic Balance On Small Scale Games

<div class="IPBDescription">12, 14 and 16 player games</div> Is it just me, or is it significantly harder for marines to acquire RP on smaller scale games? I feel it is a hard, hard struggle when you have perhaps just 5 marines available to fight. Often it ends up with the aliens commanding 80% of the nozzles, if not more, and the marines cant afford to spend the RP to secure their nozzles, and dont have the manpower to defend any of them in their mad struggle to get the 2nd hive. Or even one.
So, when Developers and testers are playtesting the patch, are they also considering small scale games? Or is it just me seeing things, having and holding res is every bit as difficult on a 20 man game as on a 12 man game for the rines? Unfortunately I do no see many large servers around where I live. Yes. A 4 marine team gets just about 2/3 of the resources of a 6 marine team. Do note that a team of 4 Kharaa still gets their second hive at the same time as in a 6v6 game.
Of course, a 16v16 game sees the marines getting about 3.5 times more resources than the poor - literally - 4 man marine team - while the aliens gets their 2nd hive at .. the same time as in a 4v4 game.
Currently, the game is only reasonably balanced at the 6v6 to 9v9 range. Anything smaller is very tough for the marines, anything larger is very hard for the Kharaa.
6 v 6 i think is no where near enough people i play 10 on 10 and i still want more people as the maps r big.
would feel lonely on there with 6 v 6,
but im sure there alot of comps that have done that.
When playing maring on small servers, the whole game is one big struggle, if your team is shite, you dont stand a chance. Its like your fighting for every single rt.
This completely turns around though on large server, the marines have alot more resources points, and it feels like they have to screw things up bad to loose.
The resources definatly need looking at, as well as the slow respawn rate for the aliens......
Is this going to be changed? Or do people have the opinion that at the moment its fair?
